Do corporate discounts apply when buying an iPhone? I'm currently with AT&T and am thinking about upgrading to the new iPhone. I currently have a 25% discount (USPS). Will I lose this?

Iphone first gen: no discount

Iphone 3G and 3GS: You get discount

So you are ok.

You get the 25% off your rate plan and off the iphone data plan ($30).

You will pay $22.50 for that data plan.

I currently have the $15 data plan and DO NOT get the 25% discount on that. only on the voice plan. Is this different with the iPhone data plan? why would the corporate discount apply to the iPhone plan?

It must be in the contract with your employer. The $15 data plan should be discounted. The FAN discount does not apply to messaging features, or other features on the account.

The discounts that you receive is different with each company. Generally speaking you would get a discount on the iPhone voice and data plans depending on your company but you WOULD NOT get a discount on the actual phone purchase.

I switched my ATT family share plan into my mothers name because she gets a 23% discount with where she works. She is one of the numbers on the plan anyway.

I recently called ATT customer service and was transfered to business care (I noticed the reps in this department are not as friendly?) I called to ask if the discount had started. The rep had me confirm I was using the iphone (which is listed as the primary number). She then told me I would not be getting this discount because the primary number must be my mothers in order to get the full discount. Also that iphones do not qualify for the discount anyway.

Is this all true? It sounds silly to me that my mom would have to actually be using the phone listed as the primary when s...

OK then, I have 2 questions..

1. Do iphones qualify for employee discounts? I originally was told we WOULD get a discount which is why we switched in the first place. Otherwise we would have saved our $18 (or so) for each line on our account to go through assumption of liability. Which cost us around $90. The last person I spoke to about this was an AT&T rep from business care who had told me if an iphone is primary, you do not get a discount.

1. Regardless of the type of phone I have as primary, must the account holder (who gets the discount) use the primary number as their own order to receive the discount?

The discount varies from company to company. The only people that can appropriated garantee that you will get the discount is the Premier department. Not everyone gets a discount on their iPhone. I assumed you had already cleared your discount when I responded previously. If the Premier department states you can't get the iPhone on your discount then you wouldn't be able to . You may want to call them back to discuss this.

Whomeever qualifies for the discount would need to be both the account holder and the primary number. If this is your mother then yes you would need to change her to primary.

so first off like said before only the 3g iphone and 3gs iphone can have a discount on it ...

as long as its in the persons name that is capable of getting the discount u should be fine ... if u log online look at the top right side of the screen u will see the FAN# that will clarify its active

as for the data plan being discounted when i worked for att last year there was only a discount on phone plan NOTHING ELSE!
so unless its changed since august last year then u only get it on the plan ...

as for the customer service over the phone..... i hate to say it but MOST of them aren't educated on the discounts for some reason they just read a script that is completely outdated and non informative .... go to the store and ask a rep th...
