this phone makes me mad...

Nov 14, 2004 by tbsemokid88

I was really excited about getting this phone, though originally I wanted the Nokia 3595. I believe thats the model.
Anyway, the guy at the store told me I can't have that phone because I wont get the GSM service in my area, so I had to go with the TDMA version.
Okay, my phone ROAMS at my house and in two towns next to me, and in my town. WHAT IS THAT?
Not to mention the capability of ringtones and new backgrounds, or lack thereof. This is what really ticks me off! I'm stuck with the same backgrounds? It should not happen that way.
I have two friends that both live right down the road from me and they both have GSM plans/phones. But I couldn't have it?

The only plus side to the phone in my opinion is that it looks nice...
and you can make it look nicer with xpress on covers.... but who wants to pay $15+ everytime you want to change the look of your phone.

A decent phone

Overall, a decent little phone.

Pros: Small and light for the time it was created. Phone reception was good, and call quality was better than the 6360 I was replacing this with. Battery life was great.

Cons: Color screen was hard to read when backlight wasn't lit. Phone keys started to stop functioning after a while. I tried replacing the face w/ a non-Nokia replacement part, and it totally killed my reception, and I started getting "No signal". Also, the replacement keypad didn't fix my problem of keys not working. The rubber piece on the back came off. Overall the phone worked great, but after 6 months or so, the phone quickly dwindled in overall quality...

Great phone w/ common probs

This phone has awesome reception, clarity, and battery. I would certainly recommend this phone to high user customers. it has a talk time of over 5 hours. The screen is gorgeous. As with all Nokia phones the menu is very user friendly.
After 12 months I have experienced several of the same problems:
3,6, 9 keys sticking or not working at all
Screen goes out. The good thing is that these problems usually will occur before the warranty is out on the phone. The service you get using this phone is well worth a chance that one of these problems will occur.
Overall, this is an excellent model.

I recently purchased this Nokia 3560, so far it is great. the tones are loud, the color is vibrant, and the battery liife is great. many options are included. but mine is a TDMA. so if anyone kows of any sites where i can download polyphonic ringtones to my TDMA phone, please leve a message letting me know...

Good but slow UI

I used this phone for a year with AT&T. I was happy with it overall, but a few things are worth noting:

- Its interface is slow to respond to keypresses. I suspect the color UI is to blame, as my previous Nokia monochrome phone was snappy. (The newer 3589i (CDMA) is color and quick.)

- In a call, once you've pressed a button (say to access a menu), you can't adjust the volume. At least not till you clear the digits you pressed.

- The little rubber inlay on the back fell off.

- Maximum volume is sometimes not loud enough.

very good phone

this phone is amazing...the screen is nice although I think it could be a little larger. The polyphonic ringtones are really nice they are very loud and sound really good. Sound better than the Motorola T720 I have. I am however a little disappointed in the vividness of the screen compared to the T720 I understand that this is a low cost phone however so that doesn't count against it. The recepetion on this phone is outstanding. It is the best phone I have ever owned in terms of reception. The battery life is amazing too. it outpreforms my Motorola T720, 5165, and 6340i (which has great battery life also). This phone holds several pictures and ringtones and has an ample amount of memory for games as well. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for a simple to use phone with great battery life and stellar reception. Also another plus is that it works with the nokia 3590 faceplates and this makes the buttons more normal for those who don't like the weird buttons on this phone.

I GOT THIS Phone!!!!!

I think for being a TDMA phone it is great it's cousin the 3595 is a great phone also. I have dropped it several times and it works fine. Internet access on cingular is good I heard not so good on ATT. soon I fear however cingular will stop supporting thsi phone when it totally goes GSM. But there are always those small rule carriers. Color screen, great sound and ringtones love the phone

Not what I expected

After spending over an hour inputting all of my phone book from my old 3360 phone (because the 3560 doesn't have infrared), I thought I would go on line to download a few of the ring tones that were in the 3360. Guess what? The phone is currently not compatible with downloading ring tones and graphics. Can you believe it? The only up-to-date looking TDMA phone that AT&T Wireless offers and it doesn't have the same capabilities that my old phone had. I refuse to switch to GSM until the coverage area expands so I think AT&T needs to get with it and have a better selection of TDMA phones. Though I haven't had the phone but one day, so far I am not impressed.

Pros - the phone looks good. It is loud and has a nice appearance.

Cons - no infrared and not compatible with downloading ring tones.

just dont play the games

The battery only sucks if you are sitting on the phone playing with the games and the polyphonic ringtones. Otherwise it is the NEW HOTNESS!!!!! also the 3590 faceplates fit the phone if you are looking for the faceplates to fit the phone.

Very Good Phone...

I bought this phone for my girlfriend and it is a very durable phone. We love the color display and the games. The menu is very easy to get around in. I highly recommend this phone.
