when first got this phone i was happy that i was going to get an amazing phone. but shortly after i was very disatified with it.
cons-
the screen - in order to do sumthing you have to press down on the screen and i dont like that. when you are a fast texter like me the screen will not let you type fast because you have to give the phone time to bring the screen back up and it wont read all your buttons you just typed.
lag- this phone lags alot meaning when i am texting it often says input error message restarting.
video- the video is average during the day but at night you can only record up close even with the really bright flash. you have to be like 3 feet away to record. the footage is usually bit blurry at night
apps- the app store for blackberry is highly mediocre and here recently all the apps being created are for the blackberry tablet. most of the apps that your friends have on the android or iphone that they get for free you have to buy for blackberry. there is no angry birds for blackberry either.
the phone gets overheated constantly requiring you to pull the battery out and that gets me mad alot.
battery- the phone lags alot due to heavy usuage making you have to take the battery out at least 12 times a day
startup- after you shut your fone off it takes about 6 mintutes to start it right back up ugggh
speaker- if your listen to music through the speaker its very static and becomes unclear what they are saying unless you plug your headphones in the audio jack
internal memory for apps - you cant use your own memory card for apps there is only a small amount of space for your apps like only 32mb worth and trust me that get you at the max prolly 13 apps
pros-
has a audio jack
Half-baked
PROS:
--Uh, you can make calls on it.
CONS:
--Insane auto dimming feature that leaves your screen constantly flickering.
--Sure press technology is absolute junk.
--I don't care what people say about Suretype. It sucks.
--Little glitches in the software that drive you bonkers.
--Tiny number/letter keys in landscape mode; it's impossible to type on.
--Deleting an app? Be prepared for it to leave an icon behind you can't get rid of.
--Archaic, and I mean Jurassic menu system that takes a PhD to decipher. Android destroys it.
--Creaky (due to the screen being one giant button) hardware that shifts in your hand. Awful.
--Having to pull the battery constantly because of shoddy engineering on Blackberry's part.
SOUND QUALITY:
--Excellent. I'm on Verizon in South Florida.
My Storm ran OS 5.0.328. I had it for a week; wouldn't foist on my worst enemy.
Great phone for whoever knows how to use it
If you ever get this phone: 1st. It lags and freezes up a lot because YOU MAY HAVE LIKE 3000 APPS OPEN!
2nd. If you get this phone, c'mon! Don't you know about something called SOFTWARE UPDATE???
3rd. How can you expect comparing this phone with an iPhone??? Can't you see that this phone has like a million more apps that that phone???
4th. If you don't like this phone... Could it be that it's 'cause YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT???
5th. If you complain about this phone's lags (due to non-software-update)... HAVE YOU EVER TRIED USING AN IPHONE WITH iOS 3.1.3???
BOTTOM LINE: This is a great device, for any person that knows how to use it... If you are a basic user, please discard it... It may be TOOOOOOO DEEP for you...
Great phone
Great phone my only problem is that the touch screen dosen't work too well in humidity......
Terrible phone
I have had service with Verizon for about 15 years and this is by far the worst phone I have ever had!! In fact, I have two of them and both of them have been replaced by Verizon two times each due to non-working phones. The one I currently use was initially replaced after only 4 days of service and then about 6 months later. The one my immediate superior uses was replaced twice in about 8 months and this last one is just as bad.
I love the "thought" behind the phone, but the actual working of the phone is substandard at best. It has been fully upgraded, I remove the battery every evening to reset it and it still freezes up 5 or 6 times a day. The keyboard goes crazy and puts #9 where #3 is, and #1 where #0 is supposed to be.
The phones shut off for no reason other than they hate me I guess. The keypad is difficult to operate for me, but then I am a bigger guy (6'5"/265), but my better half says it works great for her and her small fingers.
I have spoken to Verizon numerous times regarding my issues and they have been nothing short of great. The only thing they can do is to replace the phones with two more of the exact same phones which makes no sense to me as I have no desire to ever own another one!
On the bright side, I have decided to suck up the cost and just ordered two Droid X's to replace these two Storms. One of which will get thrown as far into the lake as possible, and the other one is going underneath the tire on my truck!!
iphone is way better!!
This phone isn't all bad but I am missing my iphone right about now. The storm freezes up alot, and you have to remove the batt to reset it. It lags alot and sometimes the touch screen doesn't work at all. I never had a problem with anything on the iphone. Can't wait for the new one to be released, I will drink the iphone cool aid once again.
Phone is good, when you first get it...
I was so excited to get my BB Storm last year however I found out that its not all what its cracked up to be. The OS is awful. It freezes up way too much to the point where you have to take your battery out to reset the phone. Not sure how much better the Storm2 is (don't know anyone who has it), but apparently the best thing out there is the HTC Incredible if you are looking for a phone like this.
I like the look and the fact that you have to press down on the face (like a button) to make your selection. I haven't found that many great apps for it, but then again I haven't really looked too hard as I will upgrade my phone when I can.
Hopefully Verizon will see a 4G iPhone by 2011 or I'll go with an android when its time to renew. Won't go with a Storm...
Great for first touch device
I would say this is probably one of the best touch screen devices business wise.
PROS:
-Looks very professional
-Runs smooth (if you update to 5.0)
-Battery life is great
-Click feature, I love that lol
-Fast (when updated to 5.0 lol)
CONS:
-No physical keyboard, and that's what blackberry is famous for lol.
-No trackball or pad, again, what blackberry is famous for lol
Nice Phone.....
I don't Have this Phone rigth Now, but I'm planning to buy in few days, but the few times that i see this phone i think is good, i have a Droid Eris, and I don't like, That phone i don't recommend...
i have a Question, Is The BB storm 9530 i know that is not coming with wifi what's the diference between Data Plan, and Wifi???? can Anybody explain me that... thanks
Get an iphone
This phone i had gotten a few months back. I've already had to replace it twice. It lags a lot. The touch screen does not respond(at which point you have to get a new one). I pay 30 dollars extra to have this phone and it is not worth it at all. I suggest switching to AT&T and getting an Iphone cause that is what i am in the process of doing
Pros:
Cool Apps
Email is good
Cons:
Battery life sucks
Touch Screen None Responsive
No options for when you are on a call
Screen lags
Constantly have to do a battery pull
slow, stop&go software
bugs, bugs, bugs
freezes often
Awkward interface
Did i forget anything?
Oh its SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
All and All save yourself the money and get an Iphone. Its well worth the money because the software is way better.
