Surrogate for iPhone

Jul 10, 2008 by heechy

I bought this phone last Sunday (so I've had this phone for five days now) from Bestbuy and thus far I am very happy with this phone. The call sound quality is very good. Although, when you use the speaker feature, the sound has slight vibration which can be annoying. The LCD screen is very clear and bright. The touch screen is very responsive and for the most part, accurate. I have the navigation feature also. I've test it out in my area and it's pretty cool feature. I've never used it before so it's something new for me. Internet navigation is pretty good for a phone. Obviously, you can't expect the same level of quality as you would get from a PC but for checking emails and such, it's not bad. The camera is really cool. You can not only take high quality images but also you can do some simple editing. But here is where short falls come about. Once you take a image or a video, you want to transfer that image or video to your computer, there is no easy what to do that. The tech support told me that the only way that they know how is to email myself. But if you do that, the phone automatically compresses the image down and you cannot take advantage of the high mega pixel images. I thought this is really stupid. The amount of information you can put in the contact info is limited. It would be nice to put birthdates and other stuff.

My impression with this phone is that LG is trying to compete with iPhone. There are a lot of features that are similar to iPhone. I never had an iPhone but thus far, I am pretty happy with this phone.

In summary,

pro's:
1) excellent call quality
2) nice design
3) solid feel to the phone
4) nice and high resolution LCD screen
5) Good music player
6) great camera/video

con's
1) difficult to extract images
2) limited contact info input

Best VZW phone I've used

Jul 6, 2008 by Ericveli

For me this phone satisfies on all levels. Phone feels solid and fits well in my hand. Touch screen is on the money, I have no issues at all. New UI/menu is refreshing, customizable, and fun to use. Camera works very well, the flash is excellent, pictures taken in a dark room came out bright and clear (unlike any other cell phone camera I've used prior in dark settings). Music player works well. Web browser is Rev A. Call quality is flawless, speaker phone is loud and clear. Bottom line this phone is a winner.

First LG I have evered owned and LOVE IT!!!!

This is the first non-flip and non-Motorola I have ever had. I LOVE it. With in the first five minutes I had the vib set to max and boy can I feel it! I am getting used to the touch screen. I transfered my blue tooth ear phone and it was very simple. I picked this up on Thrusday July 3rd. I got the clear screen protectors, leather case and added a 1 gig card.

Pros.
> like the camera
> like the size.

Cons.
> Can't think of one?????????????

THIS PHONE IS SWEET

Jul 3, 2008 by JACQUELINELYSHOL

I buy cell phones for a living, so rarely does a phone catch my attention, but this phone is sweet! That keypad, OMG!! The picture quality, OMG!! The sound quality, WOW! If I had to pick one thing about this phone I didn't like, it would be the fact that the speaker is located on the back so when you lay it down on it's back.... But you can always turn it over (come on people it's not that much work!) I was a bit concerned when I saw that there was no stylus, but my fears were quickly put to rest with the first text message. It takes a minute to get use to the handwriting recognition, but once you're over that hurdle, you are well on your way to enjoying one of the best phones Verizon has ever had!!!

Well Done!!

I love this phone. Well built, easy to use, great features, sexy, great signal, and touch screen with QWERTY. The only con I have is that there is no back up dial pad in case of touch screen failure. It does have hard keys for answer and end (which is more the I can say about my previously owned Glyde). If your up in the air about a phone, get this one. I highly recommend it.

LOVE, LOVE, ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PHONE

I've had this phone for 4 days now and I absolutely love it! It has everything I could ever want in a phone. The virtual qwerty keyboard is awsome, very responsive and easy to use. I originally was leaning toward the Voyager, but was turned off by the size. The camera is A+ and the editing features are great.
I have not found any CONS to this phone as of yet. No complaints whatsoever. Anyone thinking of getting this phone, GET IT, you will love it.

BEST phone I've ever had

Jul 6, 2008 by ZoDogg34

I absolutely LOVE this phone. I've had it for three days, and I haven't put it down.
It's got a great signal, great battery life, and is very easy to use.
The touch screen takes a bit to get used to but once you do, it's excellent.
I have switched from the Palm Treo 700P to the DARE because I was sick and tired of my treo freezing on me (I had it replaced 3 times).
This phone does everything that I wanted from my PDA. Calendar, Email, and internet.

I didn't use the treo to do anything with MS office documents, so this is a good switch for me.
If you have Verizon or are looking to switch carriers get this phone. It's got a great price, and you will definately be happy with your purchase.

Verizon's Impressive Hit

Jul 2, 2008 by CoffeeDaze

My first impressions of the Dare are stronger than I actually expected. This phone is small, sleek and built to shine. Smaller than the iPhone and styled similar to the Prada phone, the Dare is a sleek little machine. The black and chrome facing give it a professional look. The screen is bright, clear and colorful. The features are impressive and the quality is top notch. There are a few minor flaws with the Dare though and I’d like to cover both sides with some pro and cons.

Pros:

* Slick design
* Host of features including 3.2MP camera, 120fps video camera, tactile vibration feedback, VZ Navigator, email, full HTML browser, SMS/MMS, music/video player, VCast video, and much more.
* Excellent reception and call quality
* Great sound quality (both ringtones and music)
* Loud ringer
* Light and proximity sensors
* Handwriting recognition is excellent
* expandable MicroSD slot (up to 8GB)
* flush 3.5mm headphone jack
* Stereo bluetooth support
* Fun drawing pad program
* GPS
* Great battery life

Cons:

* Kind of hard to read outdoors in bright light
* Fingerprint magnet
* HTML browser is nice but could be better
* BREW still sucks

Overall the Dare is a pretty amazing phone. What it lacks in “iPhone-esque” features is more than makes up for with it’s own extras. With the era of the touch phone upon us the LG Dare is a strong competitor and a winner for Verizon. For only $199 it’s going to move fast too.

THE BEST TOUCHSCREEN OUT THERE!!!!!

Sep 8, 2009 by DARRYJR

Lets just say in my opinion the Dare is the best touch out there to this point!!!!! I have wasted more money than I care to say on early termination fees just to get the newest phones out there.I have used the Samsung Eternity, Behold,Motorola Krave, Iphone,Env touch and the LG Vu, none which hold a candle to the Dare.I have left verizon and come back 3 times to try other phones and the Dare is my final answer!!!!! It is the most responsive fluid phone out there.Unfortunately since I have switched so often means my wife has had to as well.She is not a phone junky like me, but she would always say she liked the Dare the best as well.

Pros
1/The way it feels in your hand.
2/Signal
3/Battery life is great.
4/Camera works better than the 5MP phones out there.
5/Touch screen is very precise and responsive.
6/Build quality.
7/Call sound.

Cons
NONE!!!!!
