worst phone I EVER owned

Jun 29, 2005 by telgar

This was the worst phone I ever purchased. I ended up having problems with it and returned it for a new one, only to have problems with that one, and the 3rd one I was given after only 2 months from the time I purchased the 1st. The problems were numerous, but some were: phone book listings disappearing, voice dial commands switching to other listings, phone shutting itself off for no reason, just to name a few. I finally got tired of having problems w/ it, and demanded to verizon that they allow me to get a different phone entirely.

this phone is a pile

T720c Review

Dec 25, 2004 by fishe99

This is my work supplied phone utilizing Altel. The battery life completly stinks, but the reception is high on the list. It is a good "just making phone call" phone. Voice dialing is fast too.

I personally would not buy this phone mainly due to the battery.

T720 and Alltel

Nov 29, 2004 by ps205

My T720 for the most part has been a good phone. But, when traveling in, or near San Antonio, it locks onto a Cingular analog tower (I'm an Alltel customer), and won't switch to digital or any other provider even though it works perfectly in any other locale. Alltel has given me three T720s and they all do the same in San Antonio. I have been to upper level technical support with Alltel on three ocassions, and it is presumed by them that there is an anomaly with the T720, Alltel, and the area. No will admit an error, and Alltel will not provide a different phone. All of this is documented with Alltel. If any one has any ideas, please let me know whether you're an individual, or someone with the industry who is bold enough to speak up. I do not appreciate being left hanging by Alltel and Motorola.
Thanks for any help,
ps205

My Phone

Sep 27, 2004 by Destin4144

Hello to All,

I have had this phone since July of 2003 and I really have enjoyed using it. I am not your typical phone user though. I have text messaged (around 2000 msgs a month), downloaded tons of Get it Now services, and dropped it a few times. Needless to say, this phone has been through the ringer.

Lately (about a month ago), I have had nothing but problems with my phone. The color display bleeds, blacks out, fades, freezes up, and the keypad sticks. I can't make calls, and when people try to call me, I can't answer the call because the phone freezes up!

I took my phone to my friendly Verizon Wireless store for technical service (a.k.a help) and unfortunately, it is discontinued. I couldn't get a new one to replace it. :(

I am going to buy a new (YAY) Samsung cell phone today. I am really going to miss my Motorola T720c as this was the best user friendly phone I have EVER owned in my whole life.

PROS:
1. great interface
2. easy to use - self explanatory
3. external Caller ID display
4. faceplate changeability
5. huge color screen
6. fun wallpaper
7. sexy looking phone

CONS:
1. resolution needs to be sharper
2. battery needs to be charged - daily
3. menu takes up the entire screen; can't see wallpaper picture
4. battery cover needs to be more sturdy
5. NO alarm clock - it would be nice to have one
6. can't hear sometimes
7. shuts off for no reason

I hope this review helps those who are looking at or who have this phone already.

Excuse me while I prepare the memorial service for this phone...

-Jen

Terrific phone...

By far the best phone that I have ever owned. I previously owned a Kyocera & Ericsson phone and the Motorola T720 is the best. I have had this phone since May 2003. The phone is very durable & reception is crystal clear with my service provider Verizon Wireless here in FL. All the necessary features are easily accessible and you don't have to be a genius to work this phone. The display screen is bright & well lit.
The only 2 complaints that I have were the battery life; I would have to charge my battery every other day. Ring volume; volume was very low even on the high settings. Many times I would miss incoming calls due to the low volume ring tones.
I recently changed providers to AT&T (terrible choice). I also had to give up my Motorola T720 for a Nokia 6200 (bad phone). I have had so many dropped calls & horrible reception. I probably will go back to Verizon & reactive my T720. I never had to shout to be heard by the person on the other end of the receiver or repeat myself 10 times to be understood. Motorola T720 gets my approval as a Great, Terrific phone.

Wouldn't buy it again...

I bought this phone w/verizon prepay service, for like $370. It wasn't worth that much, I wish I would've chosen a different phone. I just got the LG vx6000, which I am very happy with :)

Pros
-I like the key pad, the color sort of is blue and fades into purple when the backlight is on--however, it isn't very masculine, if you're a guy and concerned about that sort of thing. The buttons were easy to press (easier than the phone I have now)

-The screen was nice, and I like the front display, although it is small, that means there is less of a chance to damage it

-I had a couple favorite ringtones that came with the phone, wind chime for text messages and the islands for calls, I found them both cute, hearing them now is kinda nostalgic for me :P

-It's small!! I like the design as well.

-The polyphonic ringers sound really nice, in my opinion, opposed to comparable phones

Cons
-The screen randomly doesn't work (goes black), the phone sort of "freezes"--it's really annoying when you have to keep taking out the battery to reset the phone

-Ringers aren't loud at all

-Not good for talking in noisy places. You can barely hear whoever you're talking to

-Battery goes dead FAST. After a 30 minute call, I always had to plug the phone in again. I was charging about 3 times a day, which is a hassle

-Nothing too fancy, no phone or anything

-After awhile, the antenna starts getting loose and you have to keep screwing it back in

-Vibrate isn't very strong, but still audible if you are sitting in a quiet classroom with the phone in your back pack

I guess that's it, so bottom line: just get another phone, the cons far outweigh the pros.

Not good for me

Aug 12, 2004 by SpoonTide

This phone was good for me for about the first month. Then dust started getting under the screen so I couldn't see anything if there was any light hitting it. Later, I managed to get a hair under the inside screen too. It also freezes when I would be in the cooler at work and to fix this I would have to remove the battery. Finally, at least the phone was durable, as I dropped it quite a few times, but not being able to see the screen was a pain in the ass so I hit it with a baseball bat and broke it in half. Hopefully I just got one from a bad batch.

New user but learning fast

I have had this phone since it was introduced in 2002. I can hardly wait until my contract expires in October to get a new one. Until then I guess I will just have to bear it. When I first bought this phone the battery didn't last and I brought it in and my provider gave me an upgraded battery. Since then I still have problems hearing the phone ring, and when I do answer it, I have a hard time hearing the party who called. I have problems with one number that seems to get dropped off for no apparent reason in my address book. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this phone. I'm contemplating getting a new phone with Bluetooth such as Nokia 6260, Sony Ericsson Z600, or maybe a Motorola MPx220, or V600. Any comments from you would be appreciated.

Wow, what can I say, terrible reception, terrible volume, terrible clarity, and terrible battery life. Needless to say I will not touch another Motorola for a very long time.

Cons:

attenna made to break
changeable face plates scratch easily
charger port akward

Pros:
