Great phone, great price

Jan 11, 2008 by Mattxcoree

Okay. So I just got the LG enV in green the other day from Verizon.
And so far, this phone is top quality.

The sound it perfect, the speakerphone is great, the camera is great, the keyboard and t9 are very easy to use, and it has an overall good size.

The only cons I can think of are boring main menu themes. The chocolate has way better. But that doesn't effect my rating!

bad phone

Jan 7, 2008 by disapointedphoneowner

i have to say i loved this phone up until about 4 months ago. it was great with just about everything. now however it it awful. the phone turns off for no reason and does it constantly. the battery also does not hold a charge. I haven't had problems with the battery until just a few weeks ago. so m overall review would be it works great for the first couple of months, and then it just stops working and shuts down (when there is nothing you can do about it because of your contract). don't buy this phone!

Original? I'd say copied

Today I will be talking to you about the LG env VX-9900, its a okay phone, except the large bulky size and the lack of looks, but it also is followed by one of the best service providers.

Pros;
-battery life
-1000 contacts
-service/Verizon Wireless (connectivity)
-internal antenna
-A descent camera
-the menu on the internal screen
-Nice Internal screen
-Extravigant Speaker
-full qwerty key pad

Cons;
-The external numeric pad
-small exterior screen
-bulky
-Lack of style for the outside apperance
-Flash is weak
-video play back needs alot of improvements
-mp3 player? I wouldn't even consider calling it that.
-outside screen menu needs alot of improvements

Overall i give it a 3 out of 5 due to their lack of creativity for the outside apperance and features, also for its poor video and mp3 player. Recomended age- 8-14, not recomemnded for business use

New EnV for Christmas

Jan 6, 2008 by lilbabygirlc535

Pros
~Very Nice Camera better than my Kodak
~Love the keyboard very handy when texting a lot
~Nice size screen (Main)
~Lots of contact space
~Easy Speed dial (never figure out how to get anyone above 10 on my razor)
~Text read out very cool
~Love the IM and Email capabilities
~Nice setup with the buttons

Cons
~Very slippery when closed..already dropped it while talking on the phone about 4 times
~Front screen Very Little..Seems a little cramped
~Kinda hard to hear when you have it closed
~Only stores about 50 incoming Text! (Razor stored almost 800)
~Speaker phone isn't very loud.
~When put in pocket and key-guard doesn't come on right away you end up calling people on speed dial

MAJOR PROBLEMS(SW Version:T99VZ02 PRL Version: PRL 50960 ERI Version:ERI 4)

~Phone has been randomly been turning on..when its already on..Goes to Verizon black screen and then to the V Cast Intro.

~I sent out Happy New Years texts to friends..Didnt get their responses until Jan. 6th..
For some reason my incoming text were delayed..and i finally got them 5 days later. Which froze the phone.

Over all its a cool phone.
I Guess I will see how long it last before it malfunctions like my Razor.

Love this Phone

Basically i love this phone. Good battery life and great camera! I check my e mail, ebay, and myspace all in 3 min. I also take great photos! Only issue i have is that the cam corder isn't amazing but I'm sure all the phones have crappy cam corders. I also got this phone 9 months ago (silver) and it looks so worn out. Yes I'm not easy on my phones but phone has a little discoloration. BUT STILL WORKS GREAT. oH and occasionally i would have to take out the battery and put it back in...minor issue for such a great phone...IF YOU'RE DEBATING ON GETTING IT...I WORK FOR VERIZON WIRLESS AND ALL MY CUSTOMERS LOVE IT ALSO!

I Love the enV!!!

Amazing phone! I was not sure whether I should get this phone or the Voyager, as I wanted it mainly for the QWERTY keyboard and was not going to buy the data package. The phone is absolutely amazing, from build quality to sound quality.

I made the mistake of first buying the samsung u740, what a piece of junk. Do not waste your time with this phone, after it crapped out on me and had to be replaced a 2nd time,I decided to give LG a try and went for the enV as I saw my choices as this: enV, Voyager or U740 as I wanted the QWERTY keypad.

PRO:
Keypad
Call Quality
Build Quality
Sound Quality
Camera Quality
Size
Screen Quality
Reception
Price

CON:
Speaker phone does not work when closed, not a big deal at all, as I use BT.

Get this phone while you can at an amazing price right now. You will not be disapointed.

Not happy with my EnV

Oct 5, 2007 by akita-mom

I researched the best that I could before upgrading to the EnV from my LG 8000. I waited about a year past the time that I "could" upgrade before I purchased this phone. I finally dropped my 8000 & the glass broke so I went ahead and bought my EnV. I don't like it. It drops calls where my 8000 NEVER did. It "cuts out" while I'm talking, quite frankly, I'm VERY disappointed in this phone. NOW I see Verizon is coming out with 3 or 4 new phones by Thanksgiving!!!!! I am VERY, VERY peeved! I'm seriously thinking of saving up $$ and paying full price for one of the new ones, if they turn out to be better than this. So here's my summary:

PROs:
Seems sturdy
pretty loud ringers
it's "different" than any phones I've had
battery life seems decent

CONs:
drops calls
cuts out during calls
no cool accessories for this phone
front display/numbers are too small
you can't record your own ringers
can't use my sounds as ringers
I'm just SO SO SO disappointed with this phone.

Very Good, but it has its drawbacks

Sep 25, 2007 by GuyinLACA

I've used this phone for 2 weeks and found it just isn't for me, but I can give it a fair review.

THE GOOD:
-Internal screen is excellent
-The internal keyboard gives great feedback
-Sound quality is actually quite good
-Better reception than most LG's
-The camera takes very good pictures
-The camera lens cover is very useful
-Texting on the external screen is great
-Overall, good build quality, but see cons
-Comfortable to hold while closed
-The Communicator theme has an icon based menu layout instead of the boring tabs
-Excellent battery life
-Stereo speakers are very clear

THE MINOR ANNOYANCES:
-The space bar key is oddly placed.
-The hinge and camera design keep the phone from laying flat on a surface.
-The battery is cheap feeling and of the many EnV's I've used, they all wiggle and loosen over time. While texting you can feel it move.
-The screens could be larger considering the phone's size.
-The navigation controls are awkward if you have big fingers.
-The speakerphone is a bit muffled / distorted and is annoying at high volumes.

THE BAD:
-The menu text size is inexcusably small in relation to the screen size. At least LG/Verizon could have made an option to increase the size.
-The sounds made while texting are VERY annoying (even on low) so you either have to live with it or turn all keypad sounds off. Doing so also disables the startup/shutdown sounds.
-The default ringers are terrible, and Get It Now is geared toward music tones, so getting normal ringers is a chore.
-The external keypad buttons are small and hard to press.

Overall, this is probably one of Verizon's better phones at the moment, but be warned that if you don't text all that often, it really is not the most practical phone. Knowing that the LG VX-10000 is around the corner with improved screens and keyboard, I would hold off on the 9900 unless you really are drawn to it.

Best phone ever! Can't wait for next one!

The LG-VX9900 is the best phone ever produced by any company on any service. The clear LCD screen, the full keypad, the speaker phone, the battery life and the memory capabilities of this phone are unmatched by anything else! I thought that the LG-VX8000 was the best phone that I ever owned, but the LG "enV" has taken the top spot! I would recommend that everyone get this phone!

Orange enV

I love this phone so much. It's so much better than my razr v3c. The camera is awesome. You can set up for instant snap, or auto focus snap, which takes two second to take the picture, but the pictures look great. I don't consider this phone bulky. I think the palm phones are more bulky. This phone isn't huge or too small. The phone memory is not very good. After 80+ messages, the phone tells you the inbox is full already. I have the phone auto erase so i don't see the message that much. The phone also can read your text, so it's cool. The ringtones are super loud. You can also set vibrate/ring at the same time. You can also get free ringtones with out any wires(google it). Even the music you insert is very loud. The phone speaker is great, but you have to have the phone open to use speaker. The phone isn't really light or heavy. It's perfect. The orange button on the top left is not great. The only difference with the orange enV is it only a shortcut key. You can only arrange the applications, but you can't change them. When you play games on the phone, you can only play the games when the phone is flip open, not closed. I thought that really sucks. The phone reception is good, not better than my razr v3c. With this problem, I receive text from hours ago. well if you want a cool, texting phone, get the enV. I recommend getting this phone for anyone. Even my mom, and sister bought this phone right after i bought it. So if my mom can use this phone, anyone can.
