LG enV

May 24, 2008 by deejaydeejay

Pros: Keyboard works great, features, awesome camera

Cons: Fingerprints everywhere, big and bulky, speaker only works when the phone is open, mp3 player sucks, battery life is short sometimes

Recommend it to anybody looking for a cool phone.

Is this phone for real?

I recently got a 9900 from someone and I thought to myself...!". The first one I got was defective (bad earpiece) and VZW replaced it asap.

About this phone that was awesome is:

Dual text(internal and external)
Fast Web 2.0
Vcast is great and underrated
music player holds up to a 4gb card.

There's a lot more to mention.

Here are the cons:

Phone has a music player but it is only good with headphones. You would think that since it has external speakers that it would be loud however it is not.

The best phone ever

May 23, 2008 by chocolatehater

I got this phone after getting rid of my chocolate for the 5th and final time thankfully and i absoulutly love it its so amazing it has everything you need and could ever want in a phone.

Pros:
The keyboard is easy to use and is not squished together at all.
The camera is very nice with lens cover makes it very fun to use.
The music is easy to put on and very clear compared to the chocolate.

Cons:
I only have 2 problems with this phone one the vibrate is extremely loud its almost like having your phone on loud.
I also wish that you could play music in the background while doing other things however you can still answer texts while listing to music so its not that bad.

enV

The enV is my forth LG phone (VX4400, VX5400 & VX8600). Finally making the plunge for a device equipped with an qwerty keyboard. This is definitely the best phone hands down. I love the design of this phone. Never have a problem with getting a signal callers can here me I a can here them just fine. I can use it comfortably in my left or my right hand. External screen is a nice size and keys are all individual keys making short text reply possible with ease. The auto-keylock is great, very easy to unlock (just a quick double click of the 'OK' key). I really like the navigation wheel, the way it is designed I don't have many slips or accidentally pressing an incorrect option. Both softkeys and the #5 keys are physically marked making operating in visibly challenged enviorment possible. Backlight is a soft blue light instead of a mirage of brilliant, psychedelic floodlights. And when opened, it's like a mini laptop! Some people seemed bothered by the two space keys located on both sides of the last row of keys, for me it didn't take long to work them.

I waited a while to get the enV, wanted to checkout the enV2. Was not impressed. The style of the enV2 is more like a shinny new calculator, It doesn't have a navigation wheel, making its look a little incomplete. No cover for the camera, which is still located on the back and no flash. The internal screen is actually the same size of the original enV and the qwerty keyboard is just crammed into a smaller space. I'm not quite sure of what the improvements over the original enV are suppose to be. The phone is however the size of a Barbie phone and can easily be lost in the pocket of a pair of my 'daisy-dukes'. For me.....size dose matter.

Con:
The only thing that comes to mind is there should have been a mini external speaker. Or a designated speaker key to turn the earpiece into a speakerphone. To compensate, I just turn the volume all the way up, it works for me.

chose performance over looks and size

I have never liked the looks or size of the enV but after getting phones that look great and are smaller but dont hold up I went and researched hard on the most durable phone for long term heavy use that Verizon offers. much research revealed the enV was the way to go for me
Pros
I use a holster and bluetooth so I dont care about size and weight
reception
camera is awesome , and not just for a cell phone camera
outside works like a flip phone for calls and texts!!!
sounds very natural on earpiece and bluetooth
music player rocks via bluetooth and my collection of bt headphones
battery life has been much better than I had hoped. I figured Id be killing it each day with the heavy usage but its been about 3/4 used only so I got an extended battery and it uses less than 1/2 per day
qwerty keyboard. nuff said
auto save if you are filming and get a text or call. that is one of my favorite features
I got the green one. its the least fugly and Ive kinda grown to like its color
Cons
the enV key. what a waste of a good button. they could have put another space bar there and it would not have been a worse use of space
would like to have an edit feature on the camera but oh well

if you are looking for function over form the enV deserves a hard look. if you do the research you will see bum phones are a rarity with this model and many are still in use well after a year
I got it as my NE2 but upon reflection I would have paid full retail for this one.
we'll see if I feel the same way in 6 months if it hasnt fragged as well like every other Verizon phone Ive owned this century
I would have given it a 5.0 if not for the env key. what were they thinking with that one?

Reception so powerful I need earplugs

Apr 28, 2008 by huntingnfo

Well, I got the reception in remote areas that I was seeking, but I also experience tremendous static with this phone, as does everyone I talk to, all of whom say it only happens with my phones. Could it be my particular phone? Or local service?
I also don't like having to leave it open to use speakerphone. Plus I can never beat Ms. PacMan. In addition, the screen on the outside is so small that I need reading glasses to read it. I have to open the phone up for almost anything just to see. I'd like a larger exterior screen, better noise filters, and an exterior speakerphone. Thanks for asking!

Big is Good

Apr 26, 2008 by CSIdude42

I have recently acquired the LG enV and have had if for two weeks. I love a whole bunch about this phone.

PROs
> 2MP AUTO FOCUS camera
> Huge internal display
> Very fast operating system
> Cheap (considering all the PROs)
> LARGE key pad (almost to big coming from a LG Rumor)
> You name it, it has got it.
> Three color options
> Sending text is very fast

CONs
> (if you even want to say this) its big for sure but feels solid and no cheap at all

I never had a problem with this phone. I was my first phone with Verizon and didn't even make me think twice about Sprint. If you are looking for a cheap, texting phone, here it is without a doubt.

Bleh

Well Ive had this phone for a month. I liked this phone for about a week before I started getting tired of it.
I was leaning towards this or the blue ice chocolate and I chose this and now im kind of regretting it.

Pros:
full keyboard (which i dont use that much i like the front side better)
nice look
sweet camera

Cons:
Bulky
Camera Cover (it always slides over the lens when I dont want it to.)

Its hard to hear people on it

After a while you realize theres nothing that cool or fun to do on it other than text.

Front screen gets all smudgy and i cant get rid of the finger prints.

The lock doesnt stay locked on the front screen (my mp3 player always gets turned on in my purse.)

small front screen.

And i have some questions:

1. How well does it recover. Like if you drop it hard. Will it break and not work anymore?

2.I dont have insurance but if it breaks and I brought it to verizon could I get a different phone without having to pay like a really huge price for it. If not then if this one breaks then I want the blue ice chocolate.
