If you are concerned about battery life, you can purchase an extended life battery for around $20 from Verizon which I have heard extends the talk time significantly.

The Q def. doesn't have GREAT battery life but it's not that big of a deal for me b/c it's usually no problem for me to charge it frequently. With a wall charger at work and at home along with a car charger, I'm usually topped off and running out of juice has never been an issue. Like others mentioned,
disabling IR, to help a little, maybe decreasing the time before the screen blanks.

Ultimately getting an extended battery will solve these issues, and the Q is only a tiny bit thicker, but overall still small, even with that bigger battery.
The standard battery is really the cheapest verizon wanted to do legally and say they gave you a battery. Verizon always cheaps out on what they...
