Backlight

How does everybody turn on the backlight when it goes off while you are viewing the screen? I know you can "press any button", but that button generally does something, usually something you don't want to happen.

I use the navigation arrows, because all that may do is move the focus to another item. However that can still be a pain, if for instance you are trying to enter data into a field, pause for a few seconds, then wish to continue. I know it's not that big a deal, but I was just curious if there was a better way.

Possibly related, there is an alternate symbol on the messages key (bottom left), a circle with half black and half white? Does anybody know what that does? I can't seem to get it to do anything, no matter what abc, Alt,...

Amen. Weird quirk that drives me nuts. I use the message key usually.

If you press and hold the message key, the screen will go dark just so you can have the other problem again!

Yes the message key doubles as a backlight key if you press and hold the key the back light will go on and off accordingly.

But it does go to the message screen when you use it to turn on.

i'm sorry you are correct... 🤭 i just checked again and it does bring up the messaging window however if you push the shift key it won't effect anything

try the red power key to bring it back on...
