I was thinking about getting the Q when it hits stores June 5th. the only thing holding me back is the costly unlimited data plan for $44. After talking to a rep, they gave me a 20 mb for 24.99 option. Does anyone know if this would be enough for lets say just browsing the web? i am not too concerned about downloading or checking email much. Thank You

You really dont want to buy a smartphone such as the Q or a blackberry or even a palm device without adding the unlimited data feature for 44.99 because whats the point of owning the coolest newest phone without the gadgets? BUT if you do not want to use the data portion of your phone at all (no pix messaging either) then you should get the phone with the 44.99 feature added and then call vzw and tell them you want to add a data block to the account and remove the unlimited pda feature. Hope this helps.

Oh not to mention the massive overages you could face by putting the 20mb feature on the account. were talking 100's possibly for viewing just a few webpages and emails.

Another reason why it's a good idea to own the stock or work there and not be a customer. If you pull out your magnifying glass and calculator and look at the data plan brochure and do a litte quick figuring. Pay as you go data is one hundred and fifty dollars per ten MB!!!!!! I think this is right. Someone else can verify. But I spoke to a Verizon employee and he confirmed. So I guess they have succeded in making the 44.95 per month look cheap in comparison. If you are going to web browse or email you must have a data pl...

I would have to agree with part of your reply.
Verizon has succeeded in giving customers a good comparable price for evdo and you cant beat that. The part that I dont agree with is owning their stock. Verizon Wireless is not traded on the public market I happen to know a few things about the market. Verizon wireless is the only company that actually has a revenue base to work off of so they dont need to raise money by being publicly traded.

I completely agree.
Go with the bundled plans and you get data for less.

I have had the phone 6 hours and I've already pulled down a few Mb's of data while trying to surf. There is no way you can have this phone and survive w/o unlimited data unless you plan to never use the web or e-mail.

Is there a way to find out how many mb of data you've downloaded if you've got the Unlimited plan?
