To use Motorola Q, you will need to use bluetooth device as well, because otherwise keyboard is exposed. Why they could not come up with the cover for keyboard.
What do you think?

A lot of PDA/smartphones have their keyboards exposed - Treo 650, 700w, 700p, etc.

man what in the world are you trying to ask, its like your not making any since at all, you wanna know why the q does not have a cover for the keyboard, well thats because almost all PDA/Smartphones don't have them cover just like some one said to you on here, and why would you have to use buletooth, you can use it just the same as any other phone.

All PDAs have a feature called key guard. It allows the keypad to be locked after being on a call for a certain about of time. It's automatically enabled so that you don't accidentally press buttons while on the phone. Bluetooth is not necessary to use this handset or any other PDA for that matter.

If you think about it, almost every cell phone has their keys exposed when your using the handset (i.e. not with a headset.)

So basically your comment is "stupid" Sorry.

Forgive me, but (for the most part) don't all phones with a "Candy Bar" or "Brick" form factor have the keyboard exposed??

This was never a problem for anyone else before.

I agree - shouldn't be a problem.. lots of phones have exposed keyboards.

However, beware! My buddy once accidentally called his last dialed number as he was putting a "bar" style phone back in his pocket.
The girl he accidentally dialed listened for the next 10 minutes as we talked about her.

That's why I've always had "clamshell" style phones until this one. I'm a tad nervous about the ability to accidentally hit keys - but I'm going to get it anyway.
