Motorola Q
Is it worth getting if I don't.....
Guys... this is a Blackberry alternative/competitor. Why the heck would you want to bother with this if you already have a BB? Go get another phone unless you are considering replacing your BB with a Q.
*NOT calling the Q better than BB - I don't know that*
I just know that having this and a BB seems like a total waste to me, seeing they're supposed to do the same thing, more or less.
For me - my work pays for my blackberry data, but not the phone (not that I would use it anyway - it's awful).
So - I must carry a blackberry and a personal cell phone during the week.
There is no way that I'll convince my IT dept to send e-mail to the Q (they take at least 6 months to test any new hardware before they roll it out).
So - I'm keeping the blackberry for during the week (which isn't a problem - I have a briefcase to store it). I'll be carrying the Q as my cell phone and on weekends - and I still want a QWERTY for text messages and contact management, even if I don't use it for e-mail.
But hey, don't let me steer you away from a Q!
Not a chance.

I just got to see what the Q will look/feel like. Man it is pretty cool, but I don't think that I will be buying one soon. I would love to buy one retail and simply do an esn change to put it on my current plan but from what VZW said it doesn't work like that. You can't use your plan minutes to access the web, e-mail, etc. You have to have a data plan, which I can't add to my family plan. So for people like me it doesn't seem to be an option.
I think it was just because they were hurting for a sale. Another store here gave me the brush off when I asked about it.
