What is standalone mode on the VX9800?

Standalone mode puts your phone in "no service".

A good use for this would be if you are flying or in a hospital where you can not normally use a cell phone. You can still use your mp3 player, watch anything from your "MY_FLIX" folder or play games.

Yeah, too bad I can't really use my MP3 player on my 8100 when in Standalone Mode. Someone else on here has the 9800 and was having trouble, too.

Maybe there will be a fix for both the phones (9800 and 8100). Until then...
