Because of this phone, I will never buy another Nokia product.

After 1 month, the external LCD cracked. There was no damage to the housing. The phone was never dropped, stepped on, or abused in any way.

Nokia will NOT repair the phone under warranty. Their cost to "fix" the phone is almost as much as I paid for the phone in the first place.

The 6101 was my 7th and final nokia purchase, ever.

Go to hell, Nokia.

I agree. I had always heard that nokia made quality, but after having this phone for a month with cingular I disagree.

My old v551 Moto was better, and even my cousins crappy Siemens, which he got free with t-mobile, is more solidly built. Nokia should take a look at Motorola's Nextel flips if they ever want to make a durable flip phone.

Their candy bar style phones are better, but I don't think that they have any clue in the flip phone market. I believe this was their first GSM flip phone in America, so maybe they will improve, but for now stay away from Noka flips.

Where did you get the phone? If you get it from T-Mo or Cingular? They have 1 year warranty for the phone.

I bought it unlocked before it was released in the US (Rodgers Version).

It was under Nokia's warranty, but they refuse to fix their defect. They claim a manufacturer's defect is only one that exists when the phone arrives.

Apparently, they haven't heard of a latent defect, and have entirely written off the whole of their 1 year warranty for all products.

or instaed of writing of Nokias enitirely, you could instead vow not to purchase a phone from some one who doesn't stand behind their products. If you purchase it from a carrier you're safe

How many times did you try calling? Try calling again. Customer rep varies some nice and helpful, some doesn't know stuff, some hard to talk to, etc.

What? "defect is only one that exists when the phone arrives"? You probably got into a Call center from another place?

Don't say LCD cracked say LCD leak. Cracked sounds like you've done somthing wrong with it.

I heard about problem regarding the external screen but don't know specifically what.
