NOKIA 6101.. simple questions

gowerpower

Ok i'm looking to buy a cell phone for the first time. All i wanna know is this.

How good really is the battery life

I know it has picture caller ID, and 2 full colour displays. I assume since they are both full colour, the picture caller ID works on the outside too? This is crucial.

if you guys say thumbs up to both of those, i'm gonna go out and get it tommorow 😁

Nokia's have always had a really good battery life on them, and yes... the picture ID should work on the outer LCD. If you are still unsure, go to a T-Mobile store and ask to see the phone. :-)

The picture ID does work on the outside screen. The screen is pretty small tho so it ain't all that great. But it's there and it works.

I read a thread that the speaker phone sucked. Is that true?

Is there noticeable lag when navigating the menu or flipping open to answer a call? I've got a Sanyo 8100 which is very responsive (but I'll be switching to T-mobile).

See - when you flip it open to answer a call there's a delay so that you have time to reject the call if you want. If you don't want to wait thru the delay (as if your life is that important and time dependent that you can't wait 8 seconds!) just press the center button to answer. No big deal! Takes a few times to get used to it but not a problem. In fact a very nice feature IMO.

But can't you just reject a call by seeing who's calling w/out opening the phone?

Well - duh. I don't have the phone yet so I was just responding to what everyone was saying. Obviously - without even reading the manual - it seems obvious to me that you should be able to reject a call without opening the flip...but so many people are confused I thought maybe I was assuming incorrectly.

actually when I skimmed the manual I dont no beleive you can reject a call using the side buttons. If you hit one it says you will mute the phone's ring but nothing about rejecting it.

That is the same thing...you mute the ringer, and refuse to answer the call....

In some strange cultures this concept makes sense.

I was being NICE you shmuck, and assumed she didn't have the manual to read. Not everyone is as cool as you and has a phone/manual. Come back down to earth with the rest of us.
