Video recording...
I was wondering... Phonescoop specifications for the S710a said the the video recording is only limited by the memory... But for some reason my phone will only record up to 3 minutes... There is a setting called auto camera off and the longest you can do is up to 3 minutes... Is there a way to turn that off??? Maybe I'm just running out of memory, but I'm not cause I have like 10 MB's left when it stops... So.. Anyone have any idea's??? 😕
...
I agree, except mine will only record 45 seconds but I still have alot of memory left. What gives? Is it a typo on Phone Scoop?
...
Check your video length settings.
The s700i had this 3 minute limitation at first, too. I believe it was fixed with a firmware update (along with the silent camera shutter sound! 🙂

The silent camera shutter sound wont be removed with a firmware update - this was done as a response from the recent news reports about some people using them to take voyeur photos of women in public.

Like mobileasses.com LOL
...
exactly....who was it that was promoting that site so long ago?
lol
...
For the life of me I dont remember. But for some reason it didnt surprise me when I first saw it lol.
...
It was lostboyval who was promoting the site as being "the real reason there are cameras on phones". He was hoping to raise his rating to King MA 7+++ with this phone.
I remember b/c I thought his postings about it were hilarious at the time.
I'm sure that he was disappointed to find out that the shutter sound can't be disabled. 🤣
...
That's right! Good memory!
...
There's sort of a cheap way to disable the shutter sound. If you have a headset plugged in, the shutter sound wont sound from the speaker on the phone but in the headset. Not that I need it to be disabled but for this lostboyvall's out there, good luck! LOL

So I did an exchange by mail to get a new s710 and now my phone doesn't stop recording untill I run out of memory!!! It might have been a setting or maybe a glitch in the first batch... Yay!!
...
But first a question...what are you guys trying to record that is longer than 3 minutes? ^_^ just kidding...
Macai_3 and Pyro are right; the 45 seconds can be taken care of by going to normal mode instead of MMS. This can be altered by going to the video settings. The three minute limit is a 'flaw' of the 'first batch.' My phone is about 2 weeks old (or new, depending on how you look at it), and I can record longer than 3 minutes. I guess it pays to be cheap and waiting for the price to go down! 😛 The 'newer batch' can record longer than 3 minutes...that way I can record myself for 6 minutes gasping in horror at Hero's Text America site and emailing it to him. 😲
