Sony Ericsson S710a
Hearing rumblings about poor Reception on this phone.
The rep I bought it from said "great phone, it's to bad about the weak RF on SE phones"
TWO of the stores I was at this weekend "We dont sell SE phones becouse they get bad reception. Motorolla is much better"
What are the experiences you guys have had with this?
For example: I drove out to the far reaches of T-Mobiles service are using a T610 and a Nokia 6010 had better and more signal. The nokia would have 1 to 2 bars when the T610 would have none.
ALTHOUGH.... I bought this phone and it will be here today before 3 pm. I heard some pretty good reviews about it so I will be giving it a shot. I think that Sony Eric. has come a long way. I just bought one of the HCB-300 (not HCB-30) bluetooth car kits and it's amazing! It's better than any other bluetooth car kit I have used. Yeah, well the reception on it is way better than the v551, a comparable model. Possibly the best reception on a flip phone since the v60.

Remember when we said we wish there was a “hell yah” for the Nokia 7610 messaging category because it surpassed everything else? Well the s710’s performance here makes us wish that again, but we’re still not breaking our own rules. However, if we were writing Gear Eye in Italian, we’d give this phone “il capo di tutti capi.” We have yet to use another phone with reception as good as the S710a. It is the first handset that we can hold a call on in the radio-proof dungeon we call home.
