Sony Ericsson S710a
EVERYONE MUST ANSWER THIS QUESTION!
What is the first thing you are going to do with your SE S710a (after placing the SIM card in and powering it on of course)? Will you call someone? Play a game? Take a picture? Record a video of your pet peeing?

I'm going to plug it in & make sure I fully charge it before I turn it on.... want to maximize battery life.....

I'll probably try out a Pro Duo card and see if the phone can recgonize it. If it does then i'll begin loading mp3s and testing its quality!!

seriously though, i haven't read one review where the tester tried to use a pro duo card. just b/c the manual says its not compatible doesn't mean it its not. if i believed everything i read i wouldn't "backup" my dvd library

I think that the people who manufactured the thing know whether or not it will support PRO. To assume otherwise would be ridiculous.

Or its a marketing ploy to move product. If the phone doesn't need/utilize the pro duo's speed why offer both types. I'm sure sony has a surplus of pro cards and they know that most new products will opt to use the pro duo cards. rather than eat the cost of the surplus they can tie it solely to other devices.

I truly and wholeheartedly doubt that Sony gives a crap about who buys a memory stick duo pro and for what purpose, if one at all. As long as people buy it, they're happy.

It's funny how Mp3 players/phones are getting so popular now.
I used to have a Samsung SPH-M100 Uproar which was one of the first phones to have a built in mp3 player. I used to use it everyday on the metro in DC on my way to work. I loved that phone!

my friend still has and uses that phone to this very day!!!

I ended up giving mine to a friend of mine when I upgraded. I had won an ipod and the ability to carry the extra music didn't warrent me carrying it. He still uses it and loves it.

No, my father has these points on one of his credit card that he's racked up for the past several years and he doesnt use them, so he gets a monthly catalog on what he can use his points for. You can also request items that arent in the catalog, so I got an iPod. If there's enough point left, I may get my S710a like that as well.

I got my iPod for free so I'm alright. That Sony thing looks too big anyways. And if they don't offer it in more than 40 GB, then it's useless to me đŗ

Woah, that sony is sexy? In what dimension?? And I don't see a variety in HD sizes for it either.
That said - Ipod photo, personally I think it was a stupid idea (and it hasn't been selling as well as normal ipods). Do I really want to carry a bunch of photos with me? Not really...Granted the color screen is pretty but it's not such a big selling point.
The benefit of the ipod is you get a quality player - it's not the BEST as far as quality - mainly because the headphones that come with it (99.9% of all mp3 players suck) aren't very capable. The design is impressive and the scroll wheel makes scrolling through my collection of 3,000+ songs (none of which are illegal - all burned from CD's I own) pretty easy. Now, I don't hook up...

It does offer insight and valid points.
I like the iPod photo only for it's color screen and its 60 GB HD. I've gotten so used to everything being in color, that it'd be nice to have a colored iPod as well.

What i'm waiting for is ipods with the new nanotech screens - they look kinda like LCD but the display has a bit more of a book written on paper look to it (check out the link).

It should dramatically improve battery life - the biggest downside to an ipod in my opinion.
(that said - replacing the battery really isn't THAT hard to do)
