From what I hear this phone will be rolled out along with new rate plans on Feb.13. Have not seen anything on pricing yet though.

I've heard a couble different dates between the 13th - 17th, so hopefully that means the phone actually WILL show up in a week or two.

As for price. There has been too much debate on that - anthing from $199 w/ 2yr to $399 w/ 2yr contract.

We'll see I guess...

god, i'm hopeing for the $199. college student can barely afford Ramen, let alone a $400 cell phone.........

that would be nice. I'm not expecting it that low, but it would be nice!

Truthfully guys, I think this phone will easily be $699 without a contract if you buy it unlocked.
With a contract 1yr-$499 and 2yr-$399....look how much the S700 is?
The phones are basically the same, except for EDGE on S710.

I think we are really underestimating the price....$199, c'mon? The K700 is $349 (SIM free) on SE website, so let's not get our cheap hopes up too high on this S710A.
What do u think?

As I said...i'm not expecting it that low, but it would be nice. I was only repeating the low to high prices i've heard w/ a 2 yr contract.

Unlocked phones are generally more expensive anyway. But I think $299-$349 w/ 2 yr is pretty reasonable for this phone w/ $499 w/ no contract.

Honestly though - no one knows and wont know until they are available.

Yeah, i'm expecting a $299 with 2 years.

Seems like mail in rebates are occuring more and more often on cell phone deals so i'm hopeing one will come for the s710a.

No mail in rebates planned as of yet. Just like the frickin' v3.

Not surprising. Most new products don't get a rebate right away.

The price is going to be $419 with a 2 yr contract- and no rebates. Higher end phones do not start out with rebates. Retail the phone goes for $519. This is not a phone for a college student but for a high-end consumer- release date is the 17th on Feb. I should have mine hopefully a little before that, I cant wait. I am not a big fan of Ericsson, cuz most of there phones are crap, but this one promises big, and I hope it delivers. It should easily outpreform the Moto Razor V3 I have, has loads more features.

i hav talked to countless agents and stores. sony-ericson has had a weak presence in the cingular market.Call a few stores your self and ask them. a lote may tell you they dont sell sony that much or will try to get you to get somthing else. liek i said the only phone that form sony that has little or no problems with us was the t637.

I'm just confused because I've never had a single problem with any Sony Ericsson. Just because a carrier doesnt carry them doesnt mean they're bad.

I haven't used them all, but out of the ones I have used, they all worked flawlessly. I've used the P900, P910, T68i, T610, T637, S700.

well thats makes sense. as far as the t68i- that phone correct me ifiam wrong is with t-mobile- and thus dont know aobut it to well. are nto the entry level phones that cingular uses. your right the t610 and the t637 do work pretty well - but cingular does not sell the other models. i firmly belive if cingular sold the p900 the one that works with the 850 band many of are reps would not hav the opnion that they hav now. you gotta remember one thing cingular has carried these the t62u gait- t226 t616- t637 t637. the models we hav carried hav left a bad tast with many stores and agents and a lot of cusotmers. remember the average consumer doesent think aobut buying outside of the box. thats why ihav said bad things aobut the phoens that we ...

I believe you that they don't sell that many SE's. But Sony Ericsson, in my opinion, is probably not all that well known by the average consumer, opposed to Motorola or Nokia. Thats just my opinion, Im not trying to state it as a fact cause I really dont know for sure.

Sony Ericsson has me sold for life, I'm never going to even think about considering to buy anything but a Sony Ericsson. I love them! 😁

I recently purchased the p910a. Using on cingular, and I've never been happier with a phone. I was thinking about the treo 650, but palm and windows phones are typically loaded with bugs, and extra "features". Battery life on most pda phones is poor.

I'm using the p910, and it is a good testament to what SE can do. Very stable, great battery life. This makes the 3rd SE phone I've used.

T616 (Good phone, horrible display)
T637 (Just a plain good phone)
P910 (My new love)

SE has my attention. All they have to do is keep doing what they've been doing.

Guys - the confirmed price IS $399.99 w/ 2yr. $499.99 without contract.

The phone will NOT be available on the 13th. There will be a new price sheet on the 14th, and the s710 will not be available until at least the 17th, though this is not a *solid* date. SE will be shipping the phones to Cingular on the 14th, so they can't possibly be available for purchase on that day.

Price info is from a Cingular price sheet for Feb. Release info is from a conversation I had with my local Sony Ericsson rep. See my post from earlier today for more info:

It hasn't been confirmed to the public yet. So as far as we know - it could be anything. So many people have come on here saying "I asked (insert SE/Cingular employee here) and they said $x-price or x-date" and they've been wrong.

I'm not saying you are. I am saying is that the public doesn't know for sure yet, so it could change just like all those other 'facts' that have changed (aka release date).

Do you think that SE website will price theirs higher than Cingular or do you think it will be the same?
I can't understand how it can be so cheap with the S700 being so high at $699....
Guys, I know your going to s--- on me for saying this, but I'm getting the K700.
I am a girl and the S710A just seems like a 'guy' phone to me... 😛
K700 is light and cute, the S710 is big and bulky, plus I am tired of waiting. đŸ˜ŗ
I have a Nokia 6620 that I am happy with and I think that the K700 will make me happy. I decided I like SE better than Nokia, after having the T637 for a short period.

Sorry in advance for the threadjack but since a few of you seem to be 'in the know' would you mind sharing any info you may have heard about the Moto a630? Release date/pricing. Thanks in advance!

Using aforementioned Cingular price sheet for 1st half of Feb..... Moto A630 IS listed on the sheet, but it is listed as not yet available for order. No date that I know of, but also, I haven't really been digging around for info on this one like I have for the S710a.

Price is listed as $199.99 w/ 2yr... $249.99 w/ 1yr... $299.99 w/ no contract.

I am interested in seeing when this one will come out too. I think it suffers from the Razr ad campaign (actually, I think the s710a suffers from it too). Cingular & Motorola have put so much money into the ad campaign for the Razr that to release another high-profile phone (esp another motorola) so soon would more than likely take peoples' minds off of the god-forsaken v3 razr.

Isn't the A630 supposed to be a June launch?

That'd be June of 2004. 🙄
