Uhh!! Like, WHY?! As in, WHY?! can't Sony Ericsson bring something like this to the US???! 👿 What's so special about Japan, or even the rest of the world that they get super cool stuff and we don't? Aside that 99.9% of the world hates the US, but that's no excuse! Grrrr! 👿 And not just phones, cars too! Bastards....

By the way, thanks for the link! 😁

I highly doubt that's it, maybe part of it but not all of it, let alone the majority of it. What would be so different about that phone compared to other Sony Ericsson's, or even the S710a that wouldnt allow it to get approva by the FCC.

Which gets me thinking, are there many cell phones out there that the FCC doesnt approve? If so, where can I find info on them? Thanks!

You go where the customers will buy and support your product.

Anyway, the article talked briefly about Japanese culture and how it is considered very rude to talk on a cell phone in alot of public places, including places like the subway. Becasue of this, Japanese people take full advantage of other wireless communications via cell phone, like SMS and other data services, creating higher demand. Also according to the article, computer ownership is much lower in Japan than in the US, so cell phones are a much more integral part of life. Instead of sitting on a PC IM'ing your friends, you use your cell phone.
