I spoke to a cingular rep yesterday. She said that most probably the begining of January. Usually, she said, it takes a month after FCC approval. The price she said was $349 with a 2 year contract and it goes up with one and with none. I asked if they will have promotions to discount, she said she did not know until the phone comes out. I hope it does, 2 year contract + longevity + a nice discount = good phone low price.
Hope this helps. 😁

I spoke to a rep today and she said that they plan on a release before the end of the year. Still no specific date.

Today is the day the phone is expected to be accetped by the cingular testing facilites... HOWEVER..... there seems to be a bluetooth compatablity issue that is causing the phone to reset. If it isn't accepted today then the phone will for sure be delayed untill January. Lets just all keep our fingues crossed!

My local Cingular store manager has recieved an internal Cingular memo stating that the phone has in fact been delayed. No details of the delay are in the memo. The memo states the phone will not be available before Jan 15, 2005.

These guys know their stuff, and I have seen the memo, I don't expect the phone this year.

Its not Cingular's fault... I'd be more mad if they sent these phones out without ever testing them and having the phone restart everytime you turn on bluetooth.

Yeah I know, but I don't understand why there are technical issues with this phone when it is almost identical to the S700 which has already been released. I know there are differences between the S710 and S700(EDGE, different freq's, no FM, etc.) but the bluetooth shouldn't be any difference. It's also not uncommon to release a phone and then make a firmware update available to the public after bugs have been identified and resolved.

Man i feel bad i really needed the phone before christmas, but i'm going to go ahead and believe this because it to unlikly that the phone would be release so soon after the FCC approval, plus they jus came out with the Z500 so i doubt they would do it between the same month, i'm just mad cause they pratcally was swearin this phone would be out this month, o well atleast i'll have my money ready when it doe's come out. Neways though if there anymore information anybody wants to put into this please still respond to this thread.
