Faceplate

Does anyone know if you can change the faceplate of the v551?

Technically the faceplate is not interchangeable and you will void your warrenty if you do change it.

There are aftermarket faceplates you can buy if you look, they may not fit perfect though. The screws are underneith the 4 rubber plugs that are in the corners of the underside where the main LCD is. Just pry those plugs out and there are the screws.

Just another tidbit when looking be sure to get a face plate that provides the screw driver.

Where can I get the OEM faceplate? Motorola does not sell any for this phone.

Yes, and it doesn't void you warranty. I just changed it to mine last week. You're going to need a T-6 screwdriver (or Torx-6) The screws are under the plugs, you can pull them out with a needle, be sure to point the needle on the side of the plug (to make the puncture invisible) I have a website booked marked at work where you can get the face plates from. I'll post it tomorrow. I'm off today. I hope this helps.
