Built in email client

Is there some trick to be able to send messages with the built in email client? I can receive but not send, server error every time and I have the pop & smtp servers, passwords, username, etc set up as they should be (I've double checked about 8 times).

Also, on the media site for email, can I change my outgoing address to something besides @mycingular.com?

Thanks!

No shi*?? Wow. Did you read the message? I know how to send a message, the problem is getting it to actually go out over the server.

as long as the phone was purchased from a cingular location it will already have the proper outgoing SMTP info and whatnot.

Not knowing what SMTP server you have set as your outgoing server, I suggest using photo.mycingular.com on port 25. No username/password is required to send through this server. If you are using another smtp server, I cannot help you other than suggesting that the server is denying relaying for Cingular's gprs domain.

You can change your reply-to address to any email you wish.

If you never got it to work, the outgoing server should be cwmx.com

I know I am way behind on posting the correct information on this, but I have been absent from the online community for awhile.
