V551 & Bluetooth

My V551 phone is recognized by my Windows XP SP2 through Belkin Bluetooth USB adapter, and they are even paired o.k. However, I still cannot transfer files.

I talked to a techie at Belkin, and he said that I would need V551 mobile phone tools by Motorola. All I can find is a combo of USB adapter and Version 3 tools. (I don't need another adapter.)

Is there anyone out there successfully download/upload pictures and share addresss book info between PC and V551 without Motorola mobile phone tools software? Or can you get a lite version for free by any chance?

Thanks.

No need for a special software. After it gets paired, your "My Bluetooth Places" should show an icon for file transfer. Double click and it should show three folders: Audio, Picture, and Video. Sometimes my laptop has a difficult time connecting to my V551. I just turn off and on, and it backs to normal for me. 🙂

In my case, double-clicking on file transfer icon didn't do it. So I bought the mobile phone tools v3, and it works great with some cool extra features.

Thanks for your response anyway.

My V551 phone costs $50 after rebate and I paid $1,500 for my Dell PC. If I had to throw one of the two out the window, you would know which one. 😕
