Bought the 6256i & awaiting delivery tomorrow or Tuesday

Today I went to the Nokia Experience Center at the mall and ended up buying the 6256i and the earbud. That place has very people oriented, helpful sales reps and the gal today was excellent. We ordered the phone through the Nokia site and she told me to return there when the phone is delivered because she wants to help me set it up; I am not quite sure what setting it up means, but I appreciate her offer and will take her up on it.

The phone comes with a memory card and of course a charger, and since I am getting a Nokia earbud I presume that it can charge on the phone's charger.

One thing: I decided to go for the one year plan and thus will end up paying $50 more than I would have if I had gotten the two year plan. Nokia is giving a...

Addendum to the above:
I am now on the last month of my contract with AT&T (TDMA) and this will be my first experience with VzW. I could have purchased the 2 year plan, but preferred to pay the extra $50 and have the flexibility of moving to another carrier if I so decide later on.

My previous focus on NE2 was me looking two years into the future, not looking at right now or at the purchase today. The decision to buy the ONE year plan came today while I was at the Nokia Experience Center; my main priority in that regard was to have the option of leaving Verizon if I want to at the end of ONE year. I have heard enough people lamenting the time that they have to stick with their present carrier and I don't want that happening to me.

Good luck Lorna. I think goin' wit' a 1-yr contract with a carrier that is new to you is always a good idea. Of course, you do gots that '15-day cancel the contract with no penalty' period, but as a 'just in case', a 1-yr makes sense.

Enjoy the 6256i.. I really like mine. Very good call quality an' reception, an' a whole lotta features besides. 🙂

Have you considered writing a review in the REVIEW section? Probably be helpful to others.

As for my phone: I just got an email from Nokia (Let's Talk) telling me that now it's backordered and is due to arrive at my house on Nov. 30th, tomorrow. Originally I was told that it would arrive Monday or Tuesday. ☚ī¸

I am glad that it's giving you good voice quality and reception; that is so the main thing. I'm looking forward to deciding which ringtone to use. 😉

Congrats on your purchase Lorna- sounds like a great phone 🙂 I may be getting one as well, despite all the hype over the upcoming RAZR. I was just wondering what you ended up paying for the phone and where in the country you're located so I can compare prices. Thanks 🙂

Hi. The RAZR sounds great but the overwhelming majority of sales reps in stores told me that their phones were: NOKIAs, bc of the good reception.

I live in Southern California, in a suburb of Los Angeles. I signed up for ONE year with the$39 a month plan. I ended up paying more, but I want options more than I want $50.

Nokia 6256i $149.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate
Nokia BLUETOOTH Headset HS-11W $78.99
Shipping: FREE
Calif tax $26.75

Total: $255.73
Minus $50 for the rebate: $205.73

This transaction was with LET'S TALK and its Partners.

I hope this helps you. 🙂
