Nokia 6255i / 6256i
Nokia Business Card File Format???
I just bought the nokia 6256i for Verizon from Best Buy, and yes, Bluetooth is NOT crippled.
I previously was able to send .vcf files over bluetooth to my previous Sony BT phone w/ Tmobile. With this the VCF files fail...I can send anything else (most anything else anyway, text files etc) to the phone and they get there without a problem, but it appears, at least in my best guess that the phone doesn't know what a vcf file is and thus refuses to receive it...

Works fine for me using Outlook 2003 as the sending application.
With the desired contact highlighted:
File/Send to Bluetooth.../Nokia 6256
Sends it right over to the phone no problems.

.vcf filed? Is this the same thing as a regular Contact in Outlook?

Well, all Outlook contacts can be saved as individual .VCF files (v cards). I know that if I drag and drop an Outlook contact into an email it is attached as a VCF file.

I was asking because I'd love to figure out a way around the 500 contact limit, and if vcards would be stored to a memory card and viewed like a contact, maybe that's the answer. Doubtful though.

I can't test that for you as I do not have a MMC card. However, I agree with your assumption that it will not work. Sure you could move the VCF files to the memory card but I don't think the phone would know what to do with them.

I found the problem, Outlook defaults to saving to msg, I for some reason thought it would work to just rename that to vcf - no go, encoding was wrong...I had to basically open each vcf in outlook then do a save as, then bt them over to the phone...
My last Sony Ericson installed in a manner that allowed me to highlight like 50 vcf's in outlook then on file menu select send to bt device. The nokia doesn't work that way...

Why don't you either:
1. Sync all contacts (or a subfolder) at once using PC Suite
2. Highlight individual contacts and use the Send to Bluetooth... function.
Both work well for me.
Now, if you want to talk about Nokia's complete lack of name formatting (Last Name, First Name specifically) that's another issue. Major PITA, but I came up with a solution.

PC Suite is the software that comes with Nokia phones and/or can be downloaded from their Web site.
If it "just ain't there" then I gather you have not installed a robust Bluetooth driver set. Sorry, that's all I can offer.

For instance, I have the Motorola USB Bluetooth Adapter. While XP Pro SP2 supports it natively, XP does NOT have the software utilities required to change properties of the various profiles, such as disabling "secure" connections on the Bluetooth Serial Port profile.
So Installed the Widcomm drivers (which were bundled with the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools software) and it provided all the tools I needed.
You need to check with the mfg of your BT adapter to find out what you need.
