You should go into the Motorola forum and talk about the V710 and V810. MUCH BETTER PHONES than this crappy LG.

yeah youre right, the last few motorolas were spectacular especially the 720. And if u go to howards forum, the person who bought his 810 on ebay last week, basically said it sucks, and demos of the 710 r actually performing sub-par right now, but hey, 31 flavors my friend.

I'm going to agree about the motorola's being much more problematic. I work at a verizon store and about 80% of all the phone problems I see are motorola phones. Yeah the 710 sounds great but so did the t720 and look how horrible that phone was. I have lost all faith in motorola phones and will never personally own one.

you know, I work in vzw cust care; I can't tell you how much I dissagree with you; everyday I hear frustration with people and their motorolas; have one myself; I think I finally found one that works after 4 replacements; Personally I'm waiting for the lg 8000; I don't know what you are basing your opinion from but you might want to actually compare the two before you trash on LG; IGNORANCE IS BLISS 😉

I can tell you from experience. LG has had better ratings over motorola, Hands down. Motorola is finally coming out with what seems to be a good phone but they have always had more problems than anything with most their phones. I see it every day. Trust me LG is better. The only nice thing about the 710 is that its going to have bluetooth. Dont worry, LG will follow soon behind and they will more than likely have a better phone once again.

There is a reason why LG won the JD Power and Associates Award last year for highest customer satisfaction... THEY BLOW THE COMPETITION AWAY!!! I went through 5 720's.... I would not dare own another Motorola phone.. I have a feeling that the 710 and 810 phones that motorola plans on releasing are going to have just as many problems as the 720/730 did... I work for VZW also in a store, and I see WAY too many motorola's come back... not even close to as many LG's come back defective... Basically LG knows how to make good phones, too bad not many other companies do.

I have no idea... I'm a lowly sales rep, so i dont get to go to conferences where they discuss the annual lineup for phones and their release dates. And plus I could get in trouble for releasing information about it before its made available to the public 🙄

I have to agree that LG phones have been way better than motorola. The only great motorola phone that I had was the v8160. But it's nothing near the technology advances the LG has now and many of my friends had the startac including family members and the T720 which my friends ended up swtiching. I'm waiting for the new 7000 or 8000 myself...

I own a Motorola T730 and have owned a T720 before and a Timeport 270c a Startac 7868 before and the list goes on and on. I work in a VZW store as well and I always sold the LG 4400 as the best phone we carried, even though I carry the T730. Truth is there are too many bugs and problems with Motorola phones. Also, our technician hates the charging port in the T730 which the V710 and v810 will share. I WILL be buying the v710 whem/if it ever is produced as well. I am just too entrenched in the functionality of Motorola. I like being able to program annoying callers' numbers in my phonebook and then assign a silent id for them. I like the fact that I know how to work the phone with my eyes closed. But if I can direct someone who does ...

You're either mentally retarded, or have no experience with motorola phones. That's like telling people not to buy a camaro because your deluded by your ego into actually thinking your honda is fast.

I'm sorry to say.. but i agree with the people for LG. Motorola's high point was the StarTac series... to this date people still use those phones because they never had problems. The positives end there. Shall we mention V120 attennas?? LG is taking over Motorola in a big way, because Motorola phones are not reliable anymore. I have a VX4400 and that thing has gone through abuse....including water submerging... and the phone still works great. As much as I wanted to get the V710, I still feel LG is going to win over with the 8000. I'm not bashing Motorola, they are a decent company. I just know from experience who has been more reliable. I deal with cellphones everyday, and I see who brings in their phone more for problems. Motorola phones a...

Motorola's reputation is what makes me wonder if I should get this LG VX8000 instead, LG has proven it's to me with the LG VX3100L and LG VX6000, which I'm currently using. My experience with LGs' are that they are durable problem free phones compared to Motorolas, atleast that's what it seems...

This is true in regards to LG, they are a durable and constant good producer of phones, but to play devils advocate, what about the StarTac series. These were the most solid phones out there, and were the path cutters for most cell phone companies. I do not know if any of you have seen the new one, the 10th anniversary edition, but overseas it looks sick. I have heard nothing but amazing reviews from it. Although the T720 and all its variations sucked horribly, Motorola has put out some amazing phones.

For all who wish to the StarTac 10 year anniversary edition:

first off, the 9900 n 7000 r much better than the 710 (confirmed by testers of all on HOFO)so the 8000 will blow the 710 by a furlong. Its like saying the viper n porsche r better than the 350Z, and the Enzo will blo em all. Besides the 7000 is out in few days no later than 25th and the 710 is...well???

V710 will be out when hell freezes over and someone finds Bin Laden, and when it finally does get released, it'll STILL be full of problems 😡

I agree with the VX7000 date, that is what I hear through the grapevine too, but the V710, I hear has been pushed back due to software problem again. Some glitch with the video recording? Anyone else hear this? I understand that we are now looking at late July early August for the V710. I kinda hope that they go all corny on us, and release on July 10th(7/10).

The motorola looks to be coming out July 6 now, reported by many sources.

I can't confirm the software problems, but there have been other reports that say the release is being pushed back due to the push back of video messaging (they dont want to release the 9900 and the v710 at the same time.)

Anyway, I will pick up a v710 when it comes out, as I have always preferred motorolas controls and layout to LG or Audiovox -

BUT, the Lithium Polymer battery in this 8000 may convince me to buy it when it finally comes out. I don't understand why everyone continues to use tired lithium ion technology when lithium polymer is available.

That being said, the 8000 would be perfect with bluetooth and some sort of media slot.

uh...I don't think the 8000 will have bluetooth or a media slot...

those are two really big knocks against it that keep me leaning towards just getting the v710 when it comes out.

sporty, that was what i'm talking about. The startac series was the pinnicle of what technology should be... a piece of hardware built to last. but i don't know what went on with Motorola after it's success in that era, cause it's fell to the hands of LG at least in the competition of Verizon Wireless phone domination. and i think Verizon is about to give up on Motorola as seen with the close relationship between Moto and Nextel. Motorola is seeing much better profitability with them.

This guy is out of his mind.
Motorola must still be going through some serious financial hardship at this point in time. They make quite possibly the cheapest phones on the market:
-720 series
-C series and C332
