Mobile Office Kit works great!...so does QPST & MP3 Cutter
The mobile office kit for the VX6100/VX7000 works great, even the Quicklink Mobile Phone Book. When you connect the phone book detects the VX8000 as the VX8000 and displays a picture of it. Really nice to be able to backup your contact lists. I think this is the same kit that verizon will sell for the phone when they figure out how they are going to nail us for the EVDO network. By the way I average about 300kbps with some incredible bursts of over 800kbps (testing done on msn's internet speed test). Not too shabby for a cell phone.
QPST and MP3 Cutter is a must also. QPST will allow you to download ringtones, mp3's and pic's to you phone.

how the ?#*&@ do you manage to get 300kbps*
isnt the speed of the modem (when you go into settings > 5 > 7 > 2 > 2) only 115200bps ?
or is the verizon cable a true USB cable and not this hybrid serial thingy I have?

i got fed up with the VX6000 cable from radioshack which I just couldnt get to work with data.
I installed the LG drivers from their website (search for VX7000 or maybe i used the VX6000 and theres a link to Download Driver).
just went out and bought the mobile office kit for the VX7000 today and the cable has no serial thingy in the middle, and it worked straight away with the LG drivers.
i then installed quicklink mobile phonebook and synchronized my numbers.
