Talked to a verizon rep today that says the 7000 will be release sometime before june, he was aware that it is comming out. He had not heard anything of the CDM-9900.

I am a big fan of yours....I work for VZW and I know nothing....I have the t720 and I am miserable. I want a new phone. I am nxiously waiting for the 9900. Can you tell me which is the best phone that is coming out this quarter??? Can you shed some light?!?!?

P.S. I think you should just spill everything you know and make us all happy on all forums.

Sure, maybe it will be released on 6/1/04, but no one knows "for sure". Anyone who claims to be a "VZW" rep or work for them would know that nothing is for sure until they receive their shipment and phone is in their inventory to sell. Besides, the first shipments of phones are often the ones with the most problems, ie; the phone not switching to analog. So all of you anxiously awaiting the LG 7000, 8000, blah blah blah, as am I. Give it awile! Verizon does the most extensive testing of any wireless carrier. This is to the companies benefit as well as our customers. Thank you and have a GREAT DAY!! 😁

Also, anyone who worked for VZW would know that giving the release date for phones yet to be announced to the public is revealing proprietary information, and can be fired for releasing such information.

If you go read the Verizon carrier thread you'll see a pretty competent rep was fired for releasing proprietary information about phone release dates before they had been released to the public.

Cellphone providers run a tight ship. Releasing proprietary information is bad news for any company, with cell phone carriers as with most other businesses with sensitive information, it's one of the quickest ways to get the axe.

VZW has the ability to see every screen you go into on your PC. Once, one of my programs on my PC wasn't working. While I was logged in, I saw my mouse cursor moving in my screen going into different programs to correct my problem. An IT rep controlled everything. I was amazed. Pretty cool.

Shelle, If verizon does the most extensive testing of any carrier, why then should we wait a while and not get the phone when it first comes out? You have stated "the first shipments of phones are often the ones with the most problems, ie; the phone not switching to analog. "

If this is the case, and the first users end up being beta testers anyway, Id prefer Verizon get the phones out in more of a timely fashion because if extensive testing is their excuse for tardy release dates, they had better be perfect when they hit the shelves. Lesson is, dont believe everything you read, the motives for delayed release dates are defective products, lack of supply of needed parts, or are profit/inventory driven.
