Will the Verizon Tour have usable GPS?

I finally made the switch to the Storm when the new software update came out - one of the main reasons being that the GPS is now unlocked so it works with all the 3rd party apps. Does anyone know if this will be the case with the Tour?

GPS on the storm was never locked. The original software did not work with google maps at launch because of a software issue with google, not because of verizon. That issue was fixed very quickly an bbmaps, google maps and other random gps services worked fine on the storm. The tour will also be fine, but you may run into compatibility issues at first just like the storm, but those are quickly addressed and fixed by the providers.

long story short, yes the gps will be fine
Also Gps was always fine on storm

^ I agree with this. Yes, the GPS is truly unlocked, but applications haven't caught up just yet. Google Maps works great except that the OTA download actually installs the Storm version, so there are on-screen buttons that can't be pressed. Amaze GPS also works. I tried to use Garmin Mobile, which was posted on the Handmark site as a monthly subscription indicating compatibility with the Tour, but the application refused to even try to find the internal GPS; it immediately demanded an external Bluetooth GPS receiver and then threw me back to the Home screen. Handmark subsequently removed the application from their website when I complained. Garmin just needs to update their app.
