Sanyo Katana / SCP-6600

I bought a USB cable so I can download my photos to my computer. Trouble is XP won't accept the drivers on the CD that came with the phone even though it has XP drivers on it. The computer recognizes the phone as a "Data interface". When I try to install the drivers off the CD it gives me an error telling me Windows couldn't find a driver for the phone.

I've been searching for hours looking for drivers for this phone.

Hi I am trying to get some of my saved to phone pictures on my computer. I tried to email them to myself but the phone will only let me email from my saved to camera pictures. If anyone has the data cable for it, can you let me know if it allows you to take your pics off the phone from your saved to phone section.

The phone fell out of a moving car. The phone will not boot up. Is there a way to identify what "chiP I can "transplant to another phone so I can retrieve my address book from it?

Hello everyone! My friend has a Sanyo 6600 (Katana) that she wants to teather. I have read online that it can be done. I have successfully teather 2 of my Blackberries with Alltel and I have received no extra fees to date. Do you think Sprint will catch it and charge their $39.99 per mo. or will the teather not go through due to the feature on the account?

I own a Sanyo Katana. Not the II, just the "Sanyo Katana." Can I record a voice memo and use it as a ringtone? If so, please tell me how to do this.

This phone broke and I have beentinkering with it to bring it back to life enough so that I can retrieve the address book.

I was wondering how I could get the mosquito ringtone on the Sanyo Katana? I tried to go to this site that I just simply have to download the link from the web browser on the Katana, but when I click the link, it says "The requested Page can not be displayed." 😁 i just got the katana last night... and there are two things that i am not sure about... first off, am i correct in stating the camera doesnt have a flash?? and another thing (and maybe someone knows how to change this) when the handset is closed, the sub lcd just goes dark after 15 secs or wahtever it is... on my 8200, it always still displayed the time and battery strength without having to push one of the side buttons... i liked that... any idea if that is an option?? thanks!! other than that so far so good.. i havent had a ton of time to play with it...

Anyone have the Body Glove case for the Katana? I just got mine and the phone doesn't close all the way when it's in the Body Glove. I asked the store I bought it from and they said to give it some time to break in. I'm not sure it's ever going to break in enough to close all the way. If I squeeze it just a bit, the phone closes completely.

I recently got the Katana and the original bluetooth was working fine. It is the nextlink ax2. All was fine until I got a call in a store and the bluetooth dropped the call. Since then I can't get the phone to transfer the calls to the bluetooth. I thought it was a bad bluetooth and since it was uncomfortable, I went ahead and got a Motorola one yesterday. I paired them, phone was happy, but once again, it will not transfer the phone calls to the bluetooth. The bluetooth will hang up or pick up on calls, but the audio is only in the phone. I tried option transfer call to bluetooth without luck. Contacted both Sanyo and Sprint, told me to go to the dealer, don't have time this weekend to do that. Anyone out there can HELP?!

I send/receive about 3,000 text messages a month so text functionality is so important to me and I am considering this phone. Any input would be appreciated....

*How many text messages can the phone hold in your inbox and outbox?
* How many text messages can you select and send at the same time?
* Also, has anyone else ever gone from a blackberry or pda (keyboard) to this phone and how does it compare in terms of speed to type a message?
* Can you sync your phone to your computer so you won't lose your contacts if something happens to your phone?

So I love the katana, whats the deal with the mp3's being so darn quiet? Is the a setting embedded in the phone that im missing please help

Anyone know a good place to upload pics n ringers for the Katana? I used to use pcspix.com but they limit to 10 uploads per e-mail and I'm sick of making new e-mail addresses to upload more files. 3gforfree.com doesn't offer service to the Katana yet. Any suggestions?

Hello... I have a friend who's Katana continues to drop one name from her phonebook, or display the next name in the list when that first name calls. Anyone else experience anything like this or know a fix? thanks!
