Write on screen? Graffiti input?

I'm a long-time Palm user, but have never had a PDA/phone. I really like like using Graffiti to input appointments, contact info, etc. If you cannot write to input on this Treo, is there any third-party software that will allow you to do so?

If so, does it work as good as the original Graffiti on the older Palms? Does it conflict with other software on the Treo?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Verizon Treo 700p - Messaging alert

Hi everyone. I just picked up my treo 700p for verizon this past weekend. Love it!! I had the 650 a year ago with Cingular so I'm pretty familiar with the new unit and have had palm since the pilot 3.

My question deals with Messaging.

Seems whenever I send out a txt message, a few seconds later the phone plays the messaging alert to let me know the txt went through. Kinda annoying cause I think I'm getting an incoming message when I'm not. Does anyone know how to disable this or has this happened to anyone else?? I've looked at the preferences as well as sound prefs and nothing on it. Is it supposed to do that?? Anyone know what i'm talking about?? Please let me know. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

Is It possible to dial the 700p using a Palm Tungsteng E2 dialer?

I have used Palm devices since they came out with the original Palm Pilot.

I got a XV6700 from Verizon. As a web browser is really good, but as a phone SUCKS. I had to get it because it was the only thing that will synch with my office contacts database (DeskNow).

As I understand, the guys from DeskNow just came up with a connector that will work with the 700p.

So here is my dilema:

I got a personal contacts database that goes back (say 10 years) in a palm device. My company got another 10 years worth of contacts in their serrvers.

I would like to keep on using my faithful Tungsten E2 and use it to dial out using the 700p. I used to do this for the longest time using a Sony Erickson phone, and I know it is possible...

700p vs. Cheap 650

I have a bit of a dilemma...

I've been very excited about getting a Treo 700p however, I just found out I can get a $99 650. Which is the better deal? I have read that the 700 is much better than the 650, but is it worth the several $100s more?

Voice dial over Blue Tooth?

Does anybody know if the 700p will handle voice dial over blue tooth? If not do you think there will likely be a patch or add-on later?

Verizon: "No release date yet"

Verizon may be selling the 700P on their Website (anyone receive a delivery?), but according to Verizon's information at 6-1-1, there is no release date as to when the 700P will appear in stores in New York City. Does anyone have information which confirms or denies this?

700p is kinda pokey?

Have you found that your 700p is a bit pokey...

Mine gives great data speeds, and very good phone call quality. However, when I press some of the key buttons, say Phone, Calendar, green (to see call history), the phone responds MUCH slower than my old Treo 600.

Have others noticed this problem?

Some Quick Questions from a newbie....

Hey all, I've never owned a Treo before, just ordered one today and had 2 questions I hope someone could answer.

1) Is AIM on the phone (or is there a way to get it on)
2) I've seen some stuff about a PDA SMS 2000 plan but I can't figure out what it is... anyone know?

need help picking pda phone

my friend is interested in getting a verizon phone with the following requirements:
1) scheduler/organizer - like in a pda
2) mp3 player
3) car navigation. i know most verizon phones now support GETITNOW NAVGATOR. the problem is that i think it only works if i have verizon service since all map data is stored on the verizon servers. i want to buy navigation software that will work with my pda phone, use the phones gps capabilities, and either uploead all mapping of the US or regional mapping via bluetooth/cable.
4) expandable memory splot incase she needs to install more memory for new software

she was looking at the TREO 650/700, 6700, and Q. which one would be best for her needs?
what NAV software do you recommend and how much...

So what phone on the market is better than the 700p?

I hear the gripes about Bluetooth and no wi-fi and no voice dial, but even given that, what other options are actually better right now? The 6700 seems like a very good phone, but also has problems (OS is buggy, no voice dial, hard to read screen, etc.).

The 700w has a mediocre screen and a lot of the same issues as the 700p with a different operating system that seems to be more cumbersome than the Palm OS.

So, if I want to go out TODAY and buy an integrated PDA phone, what better option do I have right now?

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts as my old phone is absolutely on its last leg.

THANKS!!!

P.S. Has anyone tried to pair the 700p with the Bluetooth in an Acura MDX?

Great review from a new site

Here's some solid reviewing from a site that seems to be getting some good press:

Not sure how I feel about a site that uses stock photos, but their insight is unique to say the least.
