5300 - VZW approved new software 4/30/07

Version: T53VZV04

No I do not have a changelist.

The new software doesn't always make it out to the stores for flashing right away, so don't be surprised if you go in for an upgrade and they tell you V03 is the newest they have.

color faceplate or battery cover

Are there any color faceplates or even battery covers available for this model? All I find are "snap on" ones, but don't want the bulk - would rather have a replacement (had this for VX6100).

want a real tone for my phone!

Can anyone help me? My husband and I recently got these 5300s, and while we like the phone, the ringtone options are terrible! This is one of the only phones that doesn't support the Verizon Tunes and Tones thing, so we can't get real tones that way. I was going to purchase a song through Sony Musicbox, until I discovered it will cost at least $4 for just 1 ringtone!

I tried accessing the mobile17 thing, where you can upload an mp3 for a ringtone ... but it doesn't support this phone, either.

Are there any phone-savy people out there who can help us get a REAL tone on our phones (not the cheesy polyphonic kind!) for less than $4 a pop?? I was recommended to this site/forum by a Verizon employee, which was cool - I hope it's helpful.

Freezing issue

Does any one actually have one of these phones that they have used for at least 2 months with out ever taking the battery out? I think this is a well built, feature packed phone and I'd love to use it if it weren't for the freezing issue.
I received three of these phones on a shareplan. Two of the phones had software version T53VZV02 and one had T53vzv03. All three had the issue that requires the user to remove the battery and reboot. Rebooting the phone once daily as some suggested did not prevent the phone from locking up.
I called LG customer service about the issue. They said that it was a software problem and said Verizon would have to deal with it. Verizon has received other reports of this problem but as far as I know does not...

Model comparison

I just purchased the UX 245 (AX 245) from US Cellular and the store had just received it that day. Are the UX 245/AX 245/VX5300 identical as far as chargers go?

Hello,

I have been looking at buying the UX-245 from alltel. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried using BitPim with this phone over the bluetooth connection. I would like to transfer ringers, pictures, etc.

Thanks,

External display stays on?

Hi. I was thinking about picking one of these up. Csn anyone tell me if the external screen stays on when the phone is closed? Like to show the time, or if there's a missed call or VM?

Thanks...

Schedular options

Just as the VX6100 & also the LX5550 had the option to do a voice record/memo in the schedular mode, does the AX245 have that option also? I ask because the LG UX355 just launched with US Cellular and it does not have the option to do a voice record within the schedular -- you have to pre-record via the voice record key & then go back into the schedular and pull the recording up and attach it to the date/event you want. It was better the way it was on the 5550 and the 6100. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Help!

Verizon MobileOffice, NationalAccess, or whatever they're calling it now

Has anyone used the VX5300 in conjunction with Verizon's NationalAccess? Their website does not offer a MobileOffice kit for this phone, although they have one for the VX5200, which is also 1xRTT data-capable. They're pushing their EVDO high-speed internet access now, but it runs sixty bucks a month, whereas NationalAccess is free.

Does anyone know if this phone is compatible? Verizon customer "service" is completely clueless! Thanks in advance.

LG-VX 5300 versus the Motorola V325?Help Please.

Just trying to get some feedback before I decide. This is my first phone.I've heard good things about both.Reception and clarity are important to me and the less glitches the better.I tried the speakerphones on both at the Verizon store and is it my imagination that the 5300 sounded louder?!

5300 and bitpim

Just in case anybody was curious I was able to add ringtones onto my little brother's 5300 using the 8300 settings in bitpim. I would reccomend adjusting the (db) level to 2.0, the first batch of tones I did for him weren't loud enough. - adios

Extending Range of Tri-Mode

For traveling in areas with either sparse analog or digital signal, I have had either a wireless or connected wilson electronics external antenna recommended. However? I can't tell if this phone allows for use with external antenna's like older phones.

Anyone know or can you point me to where I can find out?

Thanks..

VX5300 Services Menu?

Please confirm this: can you access the Services Menu by pressing Menu, then 0 (zero), then 000000 (six zeroes)?

Does this phone have the VZW UI?

Thanks in advance.
