LG VX8350 Pre-Release Info (including price...)

Here's some info about the LG 8350, the soon-to-be-launched successor to the 8300:

http://rapidshare.com/files/51718876/VX8350.pdf.html »

Many thanks to ThatsMrDude2U over at HoFo, who provided said info. 🙂

There's no release date for the 8350 yet, however, as it will not launch until stocks of the LG 8300 have been depleted (which should be fairly soon).

Sending pix to the phone for wallpaper.

I have an LG VX 8300 with Verizon America's Choice service. What is the best method to send a picture to the phone for use as wallpaper (either on the front screen or the main screen)? Can I email it the phone using my-phone-number@vzwpix.com as the email address, or do I need to buy their wired kit? I don't have bluetooth on my PC and don't have the inface (wired) kit. Thanks.

Announcing Incoming Call

Hi,

When I am using a blue tooth headset and an incoming call comes in, is there a way for the phone to announce either the name of the person calling if they are in my contact book or the phone number before I answer the call.

Thanks,

Mark

Broken Antenna

My antenna broke off completely. I don't know how it happened. They will not replace the phone unless I pay $50.00.

Do I have any other recourse?

LG 8300 low price brand new

If you are looking for a LG 8300, try your wal-mart. They have them and the price is $15 for a 2 year contract, that includes upgrades. They said that stores are calling them asking if they can get them, so not all wal marts have them. I would say that this is your last chance to get a 8300 before they are gone.

They also also had the 8600 for $50.

Get software on phone?

Is it possible to put cell phone software on the LG 8300 and not have to buy it from Get It Now? Was just curious before buying a program. Can you put it on the mSD card and it find itself on the phone? If so is there a web site where those send to phone programs are?

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Bluetooth earpiece for VX8300?

I now have a VX8300, got it last Friday, so far, so good. I'm looking for a bluetooth headset, have any makes/models been proven to be particularly good or bad?

FRONT SCREEN TIME

Does anybody know of anyway to have the time stay on the outside when the phone is idle. Some phones I've had in the past would keep the time on it if you turned the power saver mode off...so it would just be a blank screen in the back with the time in black.

A few VX8300 questions.

Hi,

I'm with Verizon and am considering either a VX8300 or RAZR V3m as a replacement for my Nokia 2128i. I tend to carry my phone in my pants pocket and have some questions on the VX8300:

Can the side camera button be locked? The user manual doesn't show that the button can be locked, but perhaps there is an unofficial method?

Is the fixed stub antenna fairly strong? I had a Motorola V60i that carried well in a the pocket, but the external antenna was somewhat weak and broke.

I have no interest in using the phone for music, are the front panel keys inop if no MP3 or WMA files are loaded in the phone (don't want to run the battery down by accidentally activating the phone when it is in a pocket).

Also please let me know of any ...

What's the next new phone to have???

I know my name reflects a few phones back, but what's next from Verizon? I can easily pass over the 'chocolate' and all the flavors. My ne2 is approaching. Does anyone have any info about new LG phones?

Yes the 8350 is coming "soon"

Currently the 8350 should launch in mid/late August.

Of course this is subject to change and may depend on the depletion of 8300 stock.

Powering off - 8300 version

Ok, I'm not sure what the deal is, but I'm having the same problem with this phone as I had with the VX-4600. The phone would not connect a call about 30% of the time and would power off randomly.

Today I went to the store to exchange my 8300 for something else, but the warranty coverage only allows you to get the same model of phone. The first (yes, first) replacement phone they gave me started doing the same thing while the rep was holding it, I was yet to touch the phone...it also indicated the battery had one bar of power even though it charged all night.

The second phone didn't power off and indicated a full charge while she was holding it, however I've already had it turn off once and have had problems calling out in the three ho...

Front Screen

Hi everyone,
I was wondering, on my VX8000 and enV, the front (and also inside) screens become bright when you press a button, then they become dim after a few seconds, then they become completely dark/off after a few more seconds.

My VX8300's main/inside screen does this properly, but the outside screen will be bright when you push a button, and then will just go completely off. The screen will never go "dim" for a few seconds before turning completely off.

I checked all the backlight settings, and they are correct. Is there anyway to get the front screen to go dim rather than turn off immediately? Or is this a bug on my phone or is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks!
