Memory low notification

Storage 62.95 In use 10.76 Free 52.19
Program Total 25.45 In use 19.77 free 5.73
storage card 1 gb free 890mb
How do I avoid this low memory notification.
I have used pocket pc for 5 plus yeara. The last time I hear so many Low memory notifications was - when I use the first palm pilot.
Can the program memory be increased?

Battery pack pro-great for treo 700

I have used it for the last 3 days. It switches off a program when done like the palm os and does not let it run in the background. It gives you an idea if the memory is running low and need a soft reset. The soft reset can be done without opening the cover on the back.

this just in

the 2nd batch of 700s from verizon will have DUN enabled and installed. Of course that means they have to sell the 600,000 phones from the first batch.

User Review Courtesy

I am making an appeal that only reviews go in the user reviews and not comments. Me like other people are researching the phone and comparing it with others and we really value the evaluations. Comments with no rating skew the average user rating and give the impression that it is not a good product.

So please be courteous. I know there is a tendency to get rowdy in the forums but keep it there not in the user reviews.

Very much appreciated.

Wi-Fi ??

I am thinking of this phone but am curious about one thing. Would I ever need a "wi-fi" card if I am using Verizons EV-DO network? Thanks for any help. Still learning this stuff....

I live in an area that has bad EVDO service. Can only the eVDO signal be turned off on this phone?

email on Treo 700w

I am having some trouble sending email from my device. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the POP settings being wrong, more specifically, the SMTP settings. Does anyone know what SMTP server to use on Verizons network for Gmail? The Gmail SMTP settings do not work.

When I had my Cingular Treo 650 the Gmail SMTP settings did not work on that device either...something about email originating from the Treo being regarded as spam.

If anyone can help that would be great. And please don't respond by saying that this device is a POS and that I shoulda spent my money elsewhere or that WM 5.0 sucks or anything like that. This is probably the best WM 5.0 device I have ever used. And that is just a personal opinion (one handed operation ...

Anyone really like this specific device (forget WM or VZW)?

From what I read there are problems with the low resolution screen, insufficient memory causing lockups once a few applications are open, a mediocre radio and reception, and some disconnects after retrieving EMail. Putting aside your opinions about Verizon and Windows Mobile, (which are both givens), is this device a first version as worth skipping as it sounds? I know the issues specific to WM and VZW and they are likely to exist on any device with that combination (including the Samsung i730/830, XV6700, Treo 700w, and the Q).

Anybody able to compare this to a Sprint PPC6700, which will arrive momentarily on VZW as the XV6700?

It strikes me that not knowing otherwise, it is worth waiting for the Q to try, which by the way IS coming o...

Question for those that have this phone already...

Since the Treo 700W is out now I figured I'd ask...The 650 in my experience with it had severe reception issues, in areas where a straight cell phone had just barely enough signal to make and receive calls (without a problem despite the low signal strength in such areas) the 650 didn't get a signal at all.

Is this fixed with the 700W? I really really really hope so cause I want this device but not if it can't live up to being a good cell phone as well as a good handheld.

Palm Treo questions

A few basic questions:
1. When will VZW ofer the Palm-based Treo 700?
2. When will it be avail using EV-DO network?
3. How easy is Palm-based Treo 650 to use with home Apple computer system?
4. I heard that Blackberry email is a 'push' type email system (i.e. instant send/retireve), but the Treo email system only sends/retrieves email every ~20 minutes, correct?
Thanks

Treoo 700w - ringtones????

So here is a question. I haven't owned a Treo yet because I've been waiting for one with EVDO. Now that this one is out I'm probably going to but it. But I do have one question for the collective mind on here.

Can you assign different ring-tones to different contacts in your address book????

Thanks!

GoodLink working on the 700w?

I just sent back my Treo650 to Verizon and should have the new 700 early next week. I may have jumped the gun because I need GoodLink support on the device... but I can't find any info stating that it is compatible. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

vs. Motoroal Q

Size aside, how does this thing stack up against the upcoming Motorola Q?

https://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=1299 »

They seem fairly similar, and I expect they will both cost a permium at first.

Most importantly, does anyone have any ideas what bluetooh profiles each phone will be released with?
