I live in an area that has bad EVDO service. Can only the eVDO signal be turned off on this phone?

Thanks in advance for your help.

But, if EV is marginal, it will drain the battery by constantly trying. This is a very relevent question about whether it can be turned off. I had to turn it off on my RAZR but it took getting a hacker-like procedure from HowardForums.

nope not that i know of.. Its for the phone to decide how to connect. I use my phone constantly and i get more then a solid 8hr day of CONSTANT use out of it before i need to charge it for a tad to last the rest of the night. The bluetooth headset palm is handing out for upgrade users lasts days.
