has anyone used the nokia 7610?

it seems to have a lot of the features this phone has, minus (most likely) some of the apps... was considering it instead of this one as i need a phone now, not sure how long i want to wait again for the 6682, and don't really want a moto mpx220

Will 6680 be good???

Am just curious to know.. If Nokia 6680 the same model as 6682 but with 2 cameras, available through some vendors will also be having similar problems for call log etc.??

Given 6682 is out from cingular for a while.. I was thinking to get 6680 and get it running.

Any one with hands on with 6680.. please provide some info..

Thanks,

What cingular data option should I add to my contract for email?

I love this phone and I'm not even using it for any data connectivity.
Can I get some $7/mo. add-on that will allow me to pop3/smtp to my email server or am I limited to only getting _mynumber_@cingularme.com email?

Thx

This phone will probably be back

Well I was going to buy one of these but I held off for a bit because I wanted to see what people thought of it. I am kind of glad b/c it sounds like it has some firmware issues!

my other choices were the motorola mpx220 and also the sony s710a. however i would much rather have a nokia.

nokia invested alot of time and money building, testing, developing and advertising the 6682 in the US.

currently, amazon and letstalk still offer the phone but it is not expected for a few weeks.

it could be that there are new batches coming that have an updated firmware.

if a phone that had as many problems as the mpx220 can be brought back by cingular, then so can the 6682. although singular has not decided to bring back the 6230, which had...

Nokia 6682 World Clock

Hi,

I have a questions, in the clock function, i added some world cities [Hong Kong; Cairo; Mumbai (aka: Bombay)] & i noticed that time is 1hr off for Hong Kong & Mumbai, but Cairo is Ok. Its odd, i know that b/c of Daylight savings time the software may not accomodate for that, but i then find it odd that 1 of the 3 is correct. & i'm using the time being set by the network (not that that should matter for the world time) but...

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? (just curious) i tried to look thru the settings, but could not find anything. Also i know that there is 3rd party software available for this, but i was hopiing to try & figure this out for the stock software.

Best regards,

Improvements over the 6620?

This is a great place to get feedback from actual users of these phones. I wanted to ask those who have owned the 6620 and now have the 6682 what are the biggest improvements or additions in the 6682? Considering you can find 6620's around $200 lately, what do you get for the additional $$?

Firmware Upgrade

Looks like we will need to grin and bear it for awhile, this version of the firmware.

I finally decided to call Nokia inquiring about the availability of a newer release of firmware for this phone. I really didn't expect any, the phone being so new. But at least they have another record to log of a problem with this phone. She said that if they get too many (what that number is she didn't say and I didn't ask), they will send out an alert. Great! And alert... SEND ME OUT SOME NEW AND IMPROVED FIRMWARE 👿 LOL

Anyway, doing a search on the Nokia site didn't find any authorized Nokia service centers within 50 miles of me. Surprising, my living in Los Angeles. At least she found
one that is right up the street from me. Whe...

Cingular sys "NO" to tethering

I read in one of the news groups (alt.binaries.cingular) that Cingular has updated their legal disclaimer.

If they try to pull me out of Media.NET for this, I will certainly leave. Why else did I sign up with Cingular? Because all the other bluetooth phones out there are crippled to death. When I signed up, this was not part of the agreement, so I DISAGREE.

Anyways, FYI:

source:https://www.cingular.com/media/media_l egal

" MEdia Net packages are not available on PDAs, RIM devices, or PC card modems. MEdia Net packages are not intended for tethering. Cingular reserves the right to remove customers from MEdia Net packages for the use of a wireless device as an interface to other devices or networks, as determined by Cingular, inc...

a few questions for those with the phone

hey guys, pretty much made my mind up to get this (either w/out contract or when letstalk.com gets it again) but had a few questions i was wondering if you guys could help me with, as i haven't been able to find a phone in my local store to play with...

1) how is the sound quality - on the headset and the speaker?

2) can you listen to mp3s while browsing the web or doing other phone functions? do they pause when you get a call and restart afterwards?

3) has anyone used it with pop3 mail accounts and if so how well does it work?

4) lastly... what do your friends think of your 6682?!?!?

thanks guys!!!

Icy: BT headet used with Razr

I used an Moto 810 with both, it's the one I like best out of the four I have.

I also have:

Jabra250- does not work well with my Treo 650(why I got it). I haven't tried it with others. I don't care for the behind the ear thing.

se HBH-600- works great with Treo 650, handles calls the way BT headset should. Shorter battery life. Does not work well with my 6230. It seemed to just drop the connection.

Plantronics 2500- works well with Treo 650 also, but not comfortable for me(behind the ear)

Nokia 6682 problems FIX Please read!

Hey all this just in as funny as this sounds there is nothing wrong with your phones. Do me this favor, Open your side door and pop out your rsmmc card, power cycle your phone go all day with no media card. No problems. None. Now the next day stick the card back in oh no problems are back. Nokia is aware of this but they won't admit it. A unnamed Nokia VP provided this info to me. It is the card not the phone hardware that is causing these errors. Nokia has not officially said this is a rsmmc issue or a software issue. Me, I think it is a def software issue. I ordered a 265 card should have it in a few days will let you guys know. Hey if you guys have a non Nokia card in your phone and are have problem let me know thanks. There is a quick f...

Streaming Radio to your phone!

I have loaded this software and tried it. It is really cool! 😎

Listen to radio stations from all over the world on your mobile phone! VirtualRadio is built for 3G, but also works on GPRS and EDGE. Developed by NINJ, VR is approved by Symbian
