Overall, a good phone

Except for the 3-4 cons of this phone (see my review), I'm still pleased with this phone so far. I would, however, like to hear from people who have had this phone for a long time and get their opinions.

How to turn off service area alert

Anyone know how to turn off the service available/not-available alert? I get marginal service at my house and the thing dings and dongs every few minutes (or more) to let me know it has a signal or doesn't have a signal. Sometimes I might want to know when I am entering or leaving a service area, but not while I'm sitting still.

Video Messaging

Is there really no video messaging on this phone; or is it just my handset?

Treo 650 and SD cards

Does anyone know if the Treo 650 will recognize 2GB SD cards? Mine is fine with 1GB or less, and I don't want to buy a 2GB if it's not going to work!

Compatible or not?

I'm a new user, and understand some hardware/software may not be a good fit for the 650. Has anyone used the Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Media Model ? I'm looking for something that once in place won't require any upgrade in the near future. 🙂

Data Usage

I was wondering if anyone has limited data with their Blackberry. I am looking to find out if it is worth going with a 10 MB data plan versus an unlimited data plan. Can someone give me an idea of what 10 MB will allow in a month without going over?

Trading my Q in for a 650

Ignore my review on the Q. It turned out to be horrible for me (of course it would be after the 15 days when the the problems would happen. Go figure!). I traded the phone in for another Q (10/1😎 and it gave me worse problems the next day. I traded it w/ a coworker for a 650. Used phone? Yes, but it has to be better than the Q. I like it so far. I'll keep you posted and will do a review in a couple of weeks. 🙂

Sync Software that Lets User Resolve Conflicts

I am new to Palm ☚ī¸ My previous PDA phones were BB or MS OS. Both systems do a very good job syncing contacts and calendars.
It seems like Palm takes the easy way out and duplicate any conflicting items.

Does Palm have any syncing software that lets you make a decision to resolve conflicts between two versions of calendar events or contacts?

I have been trying to hook my Treo 650 to an antenna in my Jeep. Can't find one. Verizon doesn't support one. Anybody have any luck getting better reception in the car?

Thanks

Zlauncher question

If anyone has Zlauncher, can you tell me if it's worth the download? Few of my friends rave about it and I'm just wondering what everyone else's opinion is about the application.

Also, will it show the contacts in first name, last name format (i.e. Jon Smith instead of Smith, Jon). That's the 1 thing that pisses me off about the Treo 650 and, to my understanding there's no other way with the standard software to change this. Thanks for the help.

Pairing Verizon Treo 650 with Toyota Camry 2007

I can't successfully pair these Bluetooth systems.

After entering the code on my Treo it says I'm successful.
After a long while spent trying my Camry says that it failed.

People with the Sprint Treo 650 and unlocked Treo 650s seem to pair without an issue. However, from everything I read, the Verizon Treo 650 won't pair.

Does anyone know a trick to complete pairing?

Many thanks in advance. Travis

Ringer

One of my co-workers expressed that her ringer is not very loud. She has everything set to the loudest and highest pitch in efforts to hear it better, but she is still missing calls because she doesn't hear it ring.

Just purchased...have a quick question

I just ordered my Treo 650 tonight: 6-15-06. Do I need to download and install any updates, eg. Treo 650 Updater 1.04, via palm.com? Or should the phone have all of these updates? Thanks in advance for any advice.

need help picking pda phone

my friend is interested in getting a verizon phone with the following requirements:
1) scheduler/organizer - like in a pda
2) mp3 player
3) car navigation. i know most verizon phones now support GETITNOW NAVGATOR. the problem is that i think it only works if i have verizon service since all map data is stored on the verizon servers. i want to buy navigation software that will work with my pda phone, use the phones gps capabilities, and either uploead all mapping of the US or regional mapping via bluetooth/cable.
4) expandable memory splot incase she needs to install more memory for new software

she was looking at the TREO 650/700, 6700, and Q. which one would be best for her needs?
what NAV software do you recommend and how much...
