Treo 650 vs. BB

Does anyone know where I can go for a "head to head" matchup between the treo and BB?

I am looking to converge my two devices. I currently use a V710 and a BB7280 from ATT/Cingular.

Dropping ATT/Cingular off of the tallest building I can find.

Trying to figure out which works best for convergence.

Need good voice quality and flawless wireless synching.

Treo 650 vs. iPod Nano for music playing

I am thinking about getting a iPod Nano for a geriatric patient in a nursing home. This person likes to listen to music, and uses an early model Palm only as an electronic addressbook and calendar. This person is also able to use a desktop computer for simple tasks, such as sending e-mail. However, they are easily frustrated by anything but the simplest task on their computer. This person is also considering getting a Palm Treo 650, which has a music player capability. If they get the 650, would it be as easy to use as the iPod Nano for downloading, selecting and playing music?

Same Problems as GSM (Cingular) version?

I had the Cingular version of this phone and like the phone and PDA capability.

I had some problems tho and i was wondering if they were the same as the CDMA version for VERIZON!

1. Does the phone shut off by itself and not turn the phone portion back on?

2. Is the earpiece still really low and hard to hear?

Thanks in advance.

TREO as Daily MP3 PLayer

I am an avid Macintosh user for nearly 20 years. Having said that, my choice of the Treo 650 was driven in part to being able to sync well with Mac Os X using The Missing Sync. In addition, I am an iPOD owner however I find myself carrying too many devices daily. My goal is to is Maximize my TREO reosurces and start using as the convergent device it is.

In short, I am looking for a good strereo solution. Altec Lansing has a nice desktop solution but my immediate goal is to use in my car as well as with some good comfortable headset for the gym (again - one device while working out is best as i am on call 24/7). Of course, office music would be good too.

Any inputs welcome.

Treo to replace PDA (no Internet or email use)

I currently carry a Palm E2 and a cell phone and would like to combine them. I have no need to get the Internet or email on my cell phone so I would not use those options. I need to know:
1.) Would the Treo replace the Palm E2?
2.) Is the cell phone part of the Treo compromised to have the PDA function. If I want a good cell phone (reception and audibility), is it better to carry the two pieces of equipment?
Thanks for your help. I need to make the decision at the end of February.

Couple of questions for veteran Treo 650 users -

I am a subscriber to Verizon (no plans to change). I have some reservations before I plunge into getting a Treo 650 -
Ӣ Does the phone go to sleep after 3 minutes regardless if you are using it or not? If so, is there a software solution to this. Is this a big nuisance?
Ӣ If you are using a bluetooth headset (say, in your car) do you have to manually dial the # or browse through your contact list on the phone as opposed to using a voice command via the bluetooth headset.
Ӣ Thanks

Treo 650

Just a couple of questions, I have a Yahoo account and have a hard time downloading attachments. Sometimes I get an email that will require me to download a picture or go to a web link. How do I accomplish this? Also, what is the best way to link a Yahoo account to the palm? Is it Versa Mail or something else? Also, how do you get games or tunes on the phone? or should I just give up on this phone?

Email Question

Is it possible to get email from outlook during a hot sync operation without using the internet? Just so it is on the device and then replies to the emails would also be held on the device until the next hot sync. I guess what I am asking, is there a way to just have replies put in an outbox then transferred and sent through outlook and my landline internet?

Treo data plan - is it required?

coincidentally i'm due for a new cell phone and also considering a pda type device to manage my work schedule/contact info. i really don't want to carry around two seperate units if possible (although i will if it turns out most practical). dialing directly out of my pda's contact listing would be nice.

wireless internet and email, while certainly valuable to me, is not critical and probably not in the monthly budget right now if its gotta be $20-50 monthly. believe me, i wish it was.

my question..is it possible to have a treo 650 (or even a 600 if i got a nice one used real cheap) on verizon WITHOUT a data plan? i've read other posts saying they are made to check the system for data every so often and there is no way to turn that ...
