Motorola V400

I just had a custmer who has a V400 that the total memory on was onlt 4949KB. He claims that it used to have over 5000KB. Could someone check what the total memory is on that phone. I am out of stock.

I am in the DC metropoplitan area and have consistently had reception problems with this phone. Previous phones (with other carriers) did not produce the consistent drop of calls beyond a certain amount of time. Cannot tell if it is the phone or the carrier. I can be sitting in the same location (not moving in a car) and the call is dropped. This is not a one time occurrence. Any others experiencing similar reception difficulties?

Mobi TV is now available for the v400. But dont get too excited for it looks like a slow picture slideshow with bad sound. (I use it for listening to music or the sports channels.) If you're going to try it, get MEdia Works package.

Does anyone know what happened to the wap.rousso.net site? For some reason I can't get to it.

you can go to wap.rousso.net and set up a screen name and password...and then from the phone get free supertones 😁

Just checked the Cingular website for the Philadelphia and much to my delight the V400 is no longer listed. 🙂 🙂

This phone should die a horrible bleeding death.

can you guys tell me how to reflash my v400. when i turn on the phone,the back light keeps going on and off,on and off... ppl told me that i have to reflash it,but how? please help!!! 😢

Hi everyone - my recently new V400 gives me a start-up message that says "Insert SIM". This lasts for about three seconds, then I get the "Searching for Network" for a while, and then the phone is up and running. Is this "Insert SIM" message a glitch? BTW, I have tried adjusting the position of the SIM card, but that hasn't worked.

FETNU have you tried any changes to offset 38 bits 2 and/or 3? According to xlr8 they enable the "Classic Alert" and "Attention Alert." I like regular ringing sounds and I was thinking that these are maybe regular sounding? I heard someone's Nextel (i think) Moto ring the other day and I am convinced it was one of these that maybe Cingular disables but Nextel enables? I can't find my USB cable to try it, thought you might have...

I got a USB cable for Christmas. My son was attempting to upload ringtones from my PC to the phone when the PC locked up. He rebooted the PC and statred the transfer again. This time the files uploaded okay but now the ringtones don't play when I get a call. I can go to the multimedia folder and play the ringtones so I know they work. Unfortunatly he didn't do a backup first, and I think some files are missing from the phone. Is there anywhere that I can download the factory settings/files and start over.

I've followed all the directions at http://snow.prohosting.com/gman1025/v400/ for setting up my data cable and getting Mobile Phonetools running and everything works fine. I can access my phonebook, calendar, send an SMS, etc. with Mobile Phonetools.

But, for some reason no folders show up whenever I go into Mobile Explorer in the multimedia center. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

I have created several voice tags associated with shortcuts. I have not been able to figure out how to access the shortcut using the voice tag? Any suggestions?

I finally got Mobile phone tools to hook up to my V400. I have version 1.23 and there is no Multimedia folder. I assume this is with the update. When I run live update it takes me to the BVRP site where it is not available unless I give them the CD code. Can someone either point me where I can get it or send it to me?

Well after working on it all weekend I finally got the mobile phone tools to hook up. Now I am a dummy but how do you download ringtones I have on my computer to the phone? And how do I transfer the pictures from my phone to my PC? Please help a dummy.

Hi. Can somebody help me with my MPT. I have the latest version and P2K as well. I was able to use both of them before without any problem. But now my MPT cannot upload the file from my phone (V400)as it doesn't detect it. Though when i look at the device manager there is the Motorola driver but without the motorola USB device. But it will show up when im using P2k. Also, can't you not use the MPT and the P2k at the same time? How can i make my MPT recognize the motorola USB device connected. Thanks and your reply will be greatly appreciated.
