BlackBerry Storm 9530

Started to install the new update today and it seems to be stuck on the part that says downloaded modules 0 of 355

What should I do?

Loaded OS 5.0.0.328 yesterday then downloaded Pandora. Every song stops with 25 seconds left. Seems to happen when Pandora starts loading the next song. Even though the pause button is displayed, indicating it is still playing, if you push the pause button then push the play button the song will finish. The next song starts and plays until 25 seconds left and the same thing happens again. Anyone else having this problem? Solution????

Well my Storm finally operates like a semi-smart phone! DL the 5.0 OS today and saw how the phone should have performed when they came out with the pathetic .148 "fix" in June.

So there is poetic justice after all. I now have a preview of what to expect on Wednesday when I buy the Storm 2 and move uptown on the hardware, too! (Still can't forgive RIM for the last 6 months of drudgery with this thing). For those staying with the (1), its a helluva lot better now. In fact it almost acts like the device we all thought we we obtaining way back.... 😉

Okay, my Verizon guy "confirmed" that the Storm 2 was not available "Oct 24, 25, 26, 27" but could not confirm or deny for Oct 28th. Yes, I know that we know that already.

What he couldn't tell me was whether or not it would be available as a buy one-get one.

Any of you guys with VZW "juice" have any info on this?

yes you heard it Verizon bringing the double hammer out.. Storm 2 and the Google Android! Due out on October 28th!! believe me on this its a treat not a trick!

Gosh it's cool being "official"

all the links are closed to get the new software. does anyone know any other way to get it? could someone possibly email it to me?

Its official! They're coming out with the 5.0.0.328 upgrade on Monday for the Storm 1. It might have been motivated to take the stale taste out of the mouths of the original victims, as a way to influence purchase of the Storm 2.

Now they can provide a somewhat "fixed" device and plant the tease that the 2 is Sooo much better, but the 1, not so bad.

Can anyone forget the lack of support for a year with the leaked improvements ignored by RIM & Verizon? I am very skeptical of their marketing, Even so,on Wednesday morning (Storm 2 release), I will fall into the trap and dedicate my original Storm to paperweight use on my desk...... 😡

Is anyone else having trouble staying connected to Facebook? I have had error messages and connection timeout messages everyday for the last few days. Is the server overloaded?

Proximity sensor? Yea 🤤

VZW and GOOG announced a new partnership today with the first phones around the end of the year.

If VZW waits much longer for the S2, it may be too late. You figure with Google, there will be more support/apps/updates

If this pans out, i'll probably get a Storm2 and a Tour then give the one I don't want/doesn't work to someone else in my company. Can I go wrong with that? Odds are i'll get a phone that works right? 🤣

I just updated my BBM to version 5 but how do I restore my contacts? The last time I backed up my phone using desktop manager was a few wks back. If I restore that session it will put all messages etc back to what was backed up at that date correct? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I've been out of the loop for a bit on leaked OS's! I'm still on the Verizon .148! So is there a leaked OS that's much better? What's the initial feedback on the newest one, .230?

Today was another anomoly with my Storm. The Blackberry Nationwide Email server went down for four hours. For me, it was business as usual. I just added it to page 10 of the pathetic non-performance of this disaster device. I was not surprised the email crapped out. There's nothing consistent with my Storm except for glitch after glitch coming out of "nowhere." Another surprise every day. It was only when I visited Crackberry.com, that the shared annoyance of other BB victims who were email-less became known on the forums.

I made a vow. If the Storm 2 is not 10 times better than this excuse for a phone, they BOTH get a sledgehammer!!! My comparison test will show which screen shatters easier. And you know what's sad? RIM doesn't...

So I finally install .167. I noticed that the dial pad is weird. The letters associated with the numbers are all mixed up, i.e. the number 2 has TY instead of ABC. Anybody know what's up?

Loooong story short:

So I am on my 5th storm and it keeps freezing...AGAIN. Now its not even a battery or 2 pull a day, it freezes btw every application switch esp with the phone.

I called vzw and explained to them my frustrations and they FINALLY decided to at least give me an early upgrade at the ONE YEAR upgrade price which Im not happy with.

A friend of mine basically just got handed the Tour in store bc the people there just didnt even ask any questions bc they knew what was up.

My question is to everyone... should I wait until the storm 2 comes out (and i love the phone/screen and got used to the keyboard and everything) or just suck it up and get the Tour?

If there is anything I can say to the people in store to just...
