Heard many rumers and am waiting..........

Has anyone heard of a "new model" Storm due out in Verizon stores within the next 30 - 60 days? Any idea as to what's new about it?

It seems that the firmware updates improve things somewhat, but it is still a slow and unresponsive phone compared to other touch screens like the iPhone.

For all you tech people out there, do you think any firmware updates can really make it a fast responding phone? Or is the the phone itself badly structured/made to the point that it can never be greatly improved by SW or firmware updates.

Ok it's not a nightmare ... YET! But it is trying to freaking download it! Ugh, such a pain in the butt.

Will any of you savy Storm users please help?? Every link I have used (which ALL have promised to give me BBN 5.0) failed me. 😲 Not cool.

I LOVE the Storm rather than the Tour. I played with it at the store and I can't stand the small keys on it! I made more typo's in a text message with an ACTUAL keyboard than I do with my Storm. HA! Who would of known! LOL 🤣

Anything in the 5.0.0.xxx range has the same issues with certain programs not working yet just like the last leak( facebook, vznav, etc.)

i hear the new Storm 2 will have WiFi. Question...and forgive me if i sound dumb cuz i'm new to all this smartphone stuff.....

If you have WiFi on your phone is there a need to have a data plan from your carrier? WiFi is free right? So i would just need to open up browser and go if i have a WiFi signal right? If so, why have a data plan? And would my carrier still somehow bill me for going on internet if i use WiFi? Please help me understand. Thanks 🙂

I purchased my storm in January and went through numerous FRU's until I was fed up with it and CS cancelled my contract. Since I am still under the factory warranty, is Verizon able to still replace my phone because it wont charge unless it is plugged into my desktop charger. It wont charge from the wire itself, but when the wire goes into the desk stand, it will charge. Even though I do not have service with them? I can see it going both ways but figured this would be a good place to start.

Is there a setting I can change so when I get emails with HTML such as Evites that I can see them on my phone?

I'm getting tired of my fat fingers not being able to make the screen work the way it always should 🤣

After watching this video, just by the speed alone, the Storm 2 will be my game in town.

My phone now takes an enternity to switch from a folder back to the home screen or any other field for that matter. If they incorporate WiFi and a new OS, the chore of installing all the old Apps and operating features will be worth the effort...

Okay, I spent the better part of the week-end converting some old video clips of different formats (RM, wmv, mp4, etc) to play on my storm.

Tried to watch them today on the plane, and couldn't access any of them.

Can anyone suggest a media converter that will work with BB?

The Storm 2 WILL have Wifi and a multitude of glitches at release time to give the new owners the same practice as we had. What's fair is fair! They can't have everything....... 😢

HOLY CHIT MAN!!! this is a fantastic program!! it combines twitter and facebook into one unit!! i got invited to use the beta fricken sweet!! also try out vringo its intresting if you are using storm need to hit up the website to change that stuff around. vringo = video ringtones.

Some Chinese site has leaked it? Wow! I haven't played around with a new OS in a while. May give it a try 😁

I just picked up the Storm 9530. I have 30 days to try it out. I was wondering what peoples thoughts were about keeping it, or would it be worth waiting for the 9550? Keeping in mind price and that I have not had any problems with the 5.0 OS. Thanks for input.

Does anyone know of an App that lets you print pictures, emails, docs, etc. via bluetooth from your phone. My old Voyager "dumb phone" let me print pictures via bluetooth but i cant find anything that will let me do it now. Thanks

Just as I thought would happen. You can bash the Storm all you want but you will miss it once you try a smaller screen like the Tour. I had the Tour for a week and I just could not get past the smaller screen. The browsing experience is ten times better on the Storm
I won't go into details but I think you will see a trend of Tour users who had the Storm, make their way back to it.
I have used every leaked software that there is. Currently I am using 151 and loving it.

PS: If 5.0 that was leaked recently, any indication of where the Storm is going, I say, WOW! I really enjoyed 5.0 but the bugs need to be worked out.
