BlackBerry Storm 9530

I think the Tour is a awesome phone. If you don't have a blackberry, this is the phone for you. I've decided to keep my Storm, and the send the Tour back.

My decision was based upon a couple of things: 1) $$ even with the Every 2 yr upgrade from VZW, the Tour still costed $199.99 (money was a small part) 2) The screen--I missed the larger storm screen. 3) I think I'll wait to see what the Odin (Storm 2 w Wi-Fi) looks like or the Atlas (Tour w Wi-Fi).

The Tour really is an awesome phone!!!

I got my Tour today and honestly, I miss the Storm. I miss the large screen and virtual keyboard. I have grown to appreciate the large screen. All day I found myself zooming in to read stuff.

As much as we bashed the Storm, I can really see myself going back. I'm going to give the Tour 2 weeks and see what happens.

I just placed an order for the Tour through VZW's website. It was a difficult decision but I've been experiencing some problems with my Storm lately. For 1) the reception has been horrible. Too many people are complaining that I sound like I'm talking underwater; 2) the switching being modes is becoming very sluggish; 3) the lack of memory for applications is killing me.

I'll use my 30 days trial period to see if I like it. I know this: I'm BB fan for life!!!!

Anyone hear anything new about the Storm 2? I would appreciate the updates.

I found that going to Stormota.com from your mobile browser is the fastest way to get the new messenger. So far it works and looks great. Now cant wait to see the rest of the Storm 5.0 OS!!!!

Did this app never make it to the Storm? I really miss not having a mobile tv app on my phone. I actually went to the Storm because the Verizon Rep said that it supported Mobile TV. Guess he was wrong?? Does anyone else know of something out there that works the same?

Has anyone else had problems with the new facebook? It takes over my whole OS even if I dont integrate the messaging contacts or calendar.

Anyone else with this problem? or an idea how to remedy this?

Ok, so I have had a storm since day 1 and I've been through the gamit with this phone and since the update its been relatively problem free...however...

Since the new FB 1.5/1.6 it completely takes over my whole OS even if I turn off the contacts, messaging, and calendar integration.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I use 1.3 without a problem but I reeeeally like the 1.6 layout and features. Any idea of how to remedy this? or has anyone else had the same problem?

ok the Blackberry Tour has been announced... I am considering the trade to it when it comes available in a few weeks on Verizon. What do you all think?

I posted under the TOUR also so please don't remind me that I posted twice. I just NEED YOUR HELP desperately! Am in the mall now and looking at the tour (currently have the Curve) and wondering if I should upgrade to the tour, buy the storm or wait for the new storm. I did try the original storm and had trouble texting on it . Is the new storm all touch also? WHat is the difference between the TOUR and my curve AND ALSO what is the differences between the old storm and the new upcoming one (is it due out soon!?)? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE!

Did anyone else have 2 apps show up on there Storm over the weekend? I now have Vcast Song ID and VZwTones. I didnt know that they could just push these onto my phone without permission. Kinda funny!!! 👀

does this phone have an app like the vcast id to hear a song and tell u the name of the song and the artist.

Thinking about picking up the Tour does anyone have any information on the release date? I think this is the blackberry I have been waiting on I miss my qwerty keyboards.

I'm having problems running the song ID app. I've left the phone near a speaker for 2 mins and it still doesn't register the song.

Anyone else having problems with this app?

Is it just me or has Blackberry not addressed its memory management issues?

I have around 8 downloaded apps on my STORM and I guarantee that I have been doing hard resets nonstop. There is not a day that goes by where I don't have to hard reset. Some hangs cause me to miss phone calls and worse, not know who was calling in the first place. If I can get there (options), I check memory and notice it's at 0.0K and at that point memory cleaning doesn't help. It may take about a minute for the "think clock" to get off the screen so I can get to my messages. Furthermore, this is happening with the latest software update.

I don't think it's fair to limit the amount of app I can put on 1G of storage for the sake of a smoother running phone...

Is there a way to set the BB browser on the Storm to go straight to the 'real' webpages for a site, as opposed to the 'mobile' webpages? What's the point of a full HTML browser if when I go to Yahoo! I get the very limited Yahoo! MobileWeb page? Any answers here?

Today on cnet.com I saw a headline that read Sirius XM will be offering a streaming app for the iPhone. I did some research and found that XM already makes an app for all Blackberries except the Storm.*sigh*
I also watch a video on how to stream TV episodes from nbc.com and hulu.com from the iPhone and a Windows Mobile phones. I attempted to do this on my Storm, and nothing. All I got was error massage 403 telling me I don’t have permission to access the page.
Has anyone else attempted to stream radio, or TV and been successful? I’m beginning to think I might of made a mistake, by purchasing the Storm.

The telereps/support keep telling me that in order to fix my battery issue (~5 hours of standby on both old and brand new battery alike with no apps running except Yahoo chat) I should go to the Verizon store and they can change some settings to fix it. Anyone know what the hell they would do to save me or others the hassle of actually going? I assume it is disable chat to start but that is a guess.

If I did not like this device on two prior occasions using the old VZW software (.75), will I be more apt to like it with the new update?

I have finally decided to give up on my storm. I really wanted this phone to work. It is not an iPhone killer nor should it have to be. I thought I was the perfect person for this phone. I like to surf the web and listen to music and watch the occasional movie on my phone. Well after leaked update after update I just felt like enough is enough. I might come back when the Strom 2 comes out but for now I am leaving. Picked up the LG Env Touch it is a downgrade as far as email is concerned but hey it has a full qwerty keyboard now trying to figure out if I can even put videos on the phone. I will still check in from time to time because you guys are entertainig as hell with all the fanboy banter and smartphone bashing.
