I don't understand the keyboard

How can you have a QWERTY keyboard in between to large navigation clusters? It looks damn near impossible to type since must people who use QWERTY phone like to wrap their hands around the sides, and with this phone it doesn't look like it would work.

Granted, I've never used a Sidekick before so maybe it's easier than it looks in the photos, but jeez. I'll keep my Samsung i730 portrait keyboard thank you.

Is it possible for you to choose an mp3 to be a ringtone?

If not, is there a way to get a full song that you have as a ringtone at all? I don't mean them gay 3 dollar rip off 10 second clips.

text message? how much does it hold?

how much text message does this lx hold?

isn't there anyway to make the text message save onto the memory card, so that it doens't take up room as a default?

Price Drop for Sidekick lx

Do any T-mobile reps know if there will be a price drop on the LX anytime in the next few months? I am having trouble bringing myself to pay $300.

my next phone?

should i get either of the sidekicks when they come out or RIM's pearl or curve? i'm having trouble deciding. i personally do a lot of texting and web browsing. i frequently check my email but usually does not require that i reply from my phone. prices for features or phones are irrelevant.

Mail client -- wonky?

I use pop to access my yahoo mail premium account. Sometimes outgoing mail isn't sent, sometimes incoming mail is missed, sometimes I don't receive it until I reboot my phone.

It seems like maybe the mail client gets stuck in a loop or just stops functioning after awhile.

People aren't receiving my messages about a quarter of the time, which makes the whole mail client basically useless. I have to depend on webmail to ensure delivery, but I shouldn't have to.

Anyone else have these problems?

MicroSDHC Support

Just to let everyone know, Sidekick LX has FULL SDHC support. I am using a 6gb card with 1032 192kbps mp3 files. It's AWESOME!!!

FYI the software can't report the free space on the card, but does not effect use.

I got the 6GB sdhc from Amazon shipped for 75 bucks.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UZOSM6 »

The LX should be able to take SDHC cards up to 32GB according to the SDHC standard, whenever they start making them.

too little. . .too late

If this phone was released about a year ago I think it would be something to get excited about. But after the release of the Apple iphone and the upcoming release of the LG-VX10000 I would have to say this device is a bit behind the 8 ball. . .

NOT TRUE

"You can hold down select on the trackball when a name or number is higlighted to bring up a contextual menu that will let you dial or text that contact, however you cannot just press the send key to dial the selected number. For some reason Danger insists that the send key is a page down key, even in lists with telephone numbers."

When you want to call a contact all you have to do is double click the send butoon. =O OMG Say it aint soooooooo!!!!!!
Yes it's true, try it for yourself if u think it's not true. lol

Immediate reactions to my LX

So I picked up a blue LX today (to use in place of my Sidekick III). A few immediate reactions:

- keyboard is different, I think it's more similar to my Sidekick II, gone are the glassy buttons. Not sure if I like it better or worse after using the Sidekick III.

- Same size device, just thinner and lighter. They may have 'moved' some of the electronics by having less rounded edges, in some senses it's larger but definitely thinner.

- Seems quite a bit slower to use, to navigate around (noticeable delays) than my Sidekick III. This is the most troubling aspect of it.

- TMobile told me my SKIII charger would work on the LX and vice-versa - NOT TRUE. The two are NOT compatible.

- Switched from mini-SD to Micro-SD so I could...
