Apple iPhone

Hey guys Im thinking about getting the iPhone, but wasn't sure if you can go on IM. I heard you can't but will iChat be available in the near future? Thanks in advance

MAC users have become the very commercial they put out in 1984. They see an apple on a product and TA-DA it is the greatest thing since oxygen. Don't get me wrong, They have great stuff in some avenues, but they also have turds(Apple TV). The first launch of the iPhone is not that good right now. I am a retailer for the provider and I still feel this way. It is WAY too limited the price tag it has. Put a dress on a turd and it is still .... a Turd. In this case the dress is an Apple logo. Wait until the 3G version comes out. The "bugs" will be gone after that.

I am in Canton, OH and my iPhone (and two of my friends) could not get any data since 1pm,...still cannot and it's 6pm. I called AT&T and all EDGE network is down in ENTIRE Northeast Ohio. I'm not too happy with AT&T so far, since I came from Verizon Friday (iPhone launch Day). I've dropped several calls since Saturday on my iPhone in decent coverage areas...another few calls dropped today,...even when I was on with customer service at AT&T she said, "You keep breaking up!" I followed with, "It's your damn network!!!" and now the EDGE network is down!!! I've never had an issue with Verizon and they've certainly never said, "Oh, we took EVDO down Monday afternoon, sorry". 👿

OK, if I sign up on a two year contract and get an Iphone at the same price as everyone else. Because it does not have a 2 year contract discount (like most phones)... what is stopping me from using my 30 days (trial period) and canceling my account and keeping my Iphone? I paid 600 bucks for something, get rid of the contract, use the Wifi to serf the internet and watch utube, oh and of course... listen to my CDs and watch movies. Or just wait for the hack to come out and use it on T-mobile or over seas on Vodaphone?

I'm in Provo UT so maybe it's just here, but I don't mind EDGE at all. I was so worried from all the complaining but I can wait 10-15 seconds for a web page to load on my freaking cell phone.

The first cell phone with the whole internet on it and you guys instantly demand broadband speeds or you won't even touch it?

I just want to point out that ATT does have 3g but almost NO WHERE! And CDMA is newer technology than GSM..... Someone said that Att is more advanced than Sprint. Not even close. Sprint by far the most advanced network!!!

Just pointing this oit because a guy in review of the iphone was saying att was more advanced.

If you are a Cingular/AT&T customer dont even ask for the iPhone as a warranty for any of your $100 phones Because warranty dosnt have them. So dont bother even asking.

everyone is going to love this, the phone only has a 14 day in store return with a 20% restocking fee, ohh and if you need a warranty exchange don't bother calling cingular/AT&T warranty exchange line you have to call apple directly. HAHA cingular/AT&T raising the bar, passing the buck.

How about we make this forum about the pros/cons of the iPhone... like it's supposed to be. If you don't have something factually based on the iPhone, don't post. I'm sick of filtering through people's bashing posts in order to find information.

Does anyone know how I can use AIM? Is there a web-based something out there? Thanks!

What is the gigabyte range for a 2 hour movie purchased on iTunes?

I have chatting with the owner of Official iphone unlock and he says he is close to finding a solution. Keep an eye on the website.

First of all, let me say that I do NOT have an iphone, nor have I tried using one, but DO have a sony W810 (unlocked).

In all the hype that surrounds the iphone release, I still think the W810 is a better overall phone and here's why:

Call Quality - Shouldn't this be the most important? The W810 works very well and the earpiece volume is just fine. This doesn't seem to be the case with the iphone.

Camera - W810 takes great pictures with the 2MP camera (with flash) and also records video!!

Walkman MP3 player - No itunes, but a very simple interface, holds up to 4gb with external memory (may even accept the new 8gb MS Pro Duo)

hey just got an iphone yesterday when i got home and opened i noticed a couple little scrathces on top and bottom of phone on the glass. they are not bad but in light you can see them reflect. i was wondering if anyone else had this when they opened theirs, and should i try to exchange it or something. it is supposed to be a scratch resistant screen, and it was like that right out of the plastic. any opinions or similar situations?

Alright now that its been out for a while and folks have had a chance to use it is it worth it? I am probably the last person on the planet without a cell phone and was thinking of maing this my first "smart phone" or is there one that is a bit better and i should wait for round two of the iPhone?

Some customers are having problems with their iPhone Activation, here is some help.

1. The activation process doesn't always remove the existing data plan, so you might have to call in and have them remove the old data plan.

2. If you have a foundation account, you might need them to remove the foundation bonuses, before the activation can move forward.

I called in and did this and my phone was activated in two and 1/2 hours. The only problem was I had to reset my voicemail.

So I get there @ 6PM..I was only like the 10th person in line and it took me an hour and 10 minutes to get in. There were letting only 1 person in the store at a time, which was crazy, even if you were a couple/married they would only let one of you go in at a time. There were reps in my store just standing there drinking water doing NOTHING to help. So I get in there, they said they only had 6 of the 4gb versions and they sold out, so I had to get the 8gb version... The manager goes to the back room, phisically looks to see if anyone is FOLLOWING him, takes his key out...looks back again, unlocks the door, races in, and locks it behind him. He comes out, and QUICKLY locks the door again. I was busting out laughing.... And then go to pay, ...

A lot of my mp3s are missing ID3 tag information, including album names. This makes it so iTunes doesn't know where to get the album art, which makes the iPhone's iPod cover flow look ugly. Does anyone know a program that can query the internet to find the album names using my file names and rename the ID3 tags accordingly?
