Like other AT&T rivals, Verizon Wireless has issued a list of talking points to help its employees encourage customers not to drop their service plans and switch to iPhone. "Stay near a plug," reads one of the points to be conveyed to potential switchers. "The iPhone battery can't be removed or swapped for a spare."

All the game changers are in Japan. The poster you replied to made some very valid points. I am a fan of Apple. However, much of the hype appears to be over the interface/ergonomics. I am probably a bit older than you, so for me, spending $500 on a pretty face is so High School Prom...

Yeah there were many valid points in that document. But it really all comes down to what you are using the phone for. I thinks it's a fun phone for the younger crowd, but not being able to send pics and video messages might be a drawback.

problem with that is you need to be a self made millionaire to afford one. at least other carriers offer disounts on their equipment, not to mention that fact that i havent dropped a call in 5 years with Verizon. I'm sticking with what works and not bandwagoning to the Iphone. I'm just glad i wont have to refinance my house to buy my new cell phone, and mine will still have more features....crazy idead huh?

IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO YELL!?!?!

there's no running scared about it, when something so hyped is getting to the point where people are (rather foolishly) aiming to drop their carriers, a counter-responce is not only necessary, it's good business sense. i work for sprint and we got a similar memo yesterday. ''an educated consumer is the best type of consumer" and really that's all this is, an aim to educate the consumer so they can make a decision based on information rather than hype.

How is it a game changer?

I have email in my current phone. Several phones have email. No big change there, except for the iPhone's lack of corporate email support.

I have media player in my phone. Verizon Wireless has several devices with music players in them. So do other carriers. Again, no big fancy change there.

Touch screen, yup, I got that too. Same with a web browser. Actually, I have two browsers installed...

Maybe I'm playing the wrong game or something, but I'm not seeing any real change other than slapping the apple logo on a second rate phone...

I love when other carriers fear losing a huge amount of customers. I will get to the point here . VZ, T-mobile, Sprint is going to say whatever they can to steal the fire from apple and at&t because they wont even get a chance to do business with apple for about a decade thanks to contracts with the two corporate giants. Here goes in response to the phone having the battery built inside of it, Don't most ipods have the same thing going on and I don't know about the rest of you but I have far less issues with my ipods battery than my mobile phones battery. The iphone can still be charged usb just like an ipod. So once again no big deal, if you have an outlet near you or a laptop you're fine, every phone has to be charged eventually anywa...
