My Stupid I Phone Experiance. At&t P*ssed Me Off.
So I get there @ 6PM..I was only like the 10th person in line and it took me an hour and 10 minutes to get in. There were letting only 1 person in the store at a time, which was crazy, even if you were a couple/married they would only let one of you go in at a time. There were reps in my store just standing there drinking water doing NOTHING to help. So I get in there, they said they only had 6 of the 4gb versions and they sold out, so I had to get the 8gb version... The manager goes to the back room, phisically looks to see if anyone is FOLLOWING him, takes his key out...looks back again, unlocks the door, races in, and locks it behind him. He comes out, and QUICKLY locks the door again. I was busting out laughing.... And then go to pay, ...

I would have to agree get a debit card at least. and not for nothing I was at the at&t store here in Berkeley California and they were extremely nice gave us water bottles even a few of the reps came outside and talked to us a bit. I think you were just a bit amped up to get it and go. It was a crazy day for all of those stores, you have your iphone now don't be silly and return it over a bad sales experience especially on such a phenomenon like this.

Why do people always say GSM is better because you can use it around the world? Do you ever travel out of the country? Most people don't.
Besides, with some new CDMA handsets, you can talk and text at the same time. Granted, not being able to surf the web and talk is a valid point, the rest are not.
Besides, the iPhone sucks. Why pay $600 for a handset when you can pay $100 for one that does the same thing and then some! Oh, like 3G and use AIM. Oh yeah, and change my battery!

And it's just plain wrong to say you can't use it outside the US. 77% of the world does use GSM but 23% use cdma and if they could afford it they would all use cdma and probably will in the future.

yoiu should have learned how to use your phone because I am using the 8525 and CAN talk and text or surf the internet. maybe you shouold have just bought a "regular" phone because you dont seem to know how to use your pda.

I would usually not reply, BUT the phone just came out and just like every new techno it will be expensive, I have to agree with most here, just like plasma tvs they were expensive also when they first came out, but now they are a little cheeper, but if you can not afford to buy it, don't waste your time going to a store and whining on the internet about the phone, What the hell everybody knew the price before they came out they advertised it. And the other people complaining about it, it is what it is advertised as, an entertainment/phone device, not a PDA, so it is what it is, do not but it if you do not like it!

you know, everyone is dogging on you but that is bs. I took a check yesterday for over $900 dollars. They are running your credit while you are in there so im theory if you passed the credit check you are not in the habit of writing bad checks and it is not like they can't find you or disrupt you service if it did bounce.

a check can bounce from anything, the iphone is not the only $600 thing out there you can write a check for. this in many ways is much more secure, it is a cellphone so it is not like they will not have all of his info, as i stated earlier they run your credit while you are in there so that minimalizes the risk and every phone sale is a risk, the iphone is no different. It is not like At&t couldn't take the hit if they had to. To change a payment policy just for that device is stupid, and if that is their policy then fine, but with all the hype on this product they never thought someone might want to write a check, come on..

COOL YES I LOVE IT ! I agree with you, these people on this post are complaining about a device they bought that does what they say it will, and they are not happy, if you need a black berry go buy one so you can check your e-mail, even if I did not do any reserch, and just watched the comericals, I know it does not do corprate e-mail, along with a bunch of other stuff.

Actually, I work for an at&t indirect store, and one of the reasons that the prices are so high is fraudulent checks. in 25 stores in the last month we have had 100x more money lost in bad checks made by people who passed at&t's extremely forgiving credit checks than in the 1.5% of credit card fees.

first off sprint sucks ex employee -- second anyone can get a sprint phone unless they have f or y class credit line ON SPRINT if i dont recall properly -- so i lost my point with this other then yeah your right i know what a telecheck is thank you very much but in this day of age checks are a rare thing so piss off 🙄

I don't recall anyone mentioning paying with a credit card. It is silly to use a check when you can pay with a debit card that doesn't incur any debt.

we willnot take checks for prepaid and that isn't much different than cricket. When you are signing a contract we run your credit, you are signing a contract, we have all your info, it is not like it is that risky,we just shut your service off tillyou pay up

Why would you think paying w/ a check was a good idea in the first place? Wouldn't it make more sense to pay w/ a Credit/Debit card? That way if you want to return it, it can simply be charged back to your card? And becasue you made a bad choice it's at&t's fault?
And the reason at&t was so cautious was because many stores were broken into between 06/27 - 06/29 buy fanatics looking for iPhones. at&t was just trying to prevent a WalMart Black Friday/PS3 launch incident. Better for the staff and for the public I assure you. They could have just opened the door and let you get trampled.
