iphone or Treo 750?????

I was going to buy the treo 680or 750, depending on the cash in my wallet, i had made up my mind. But now with the release of the iphone my extra battery, cradle, cases, and screen protectors for my 680/750 are going back. The iphone looks like it will take treo out of buisiness. It looks solid, its way more advance than any phone with wifi. Has a calender and 4 or 8g of room for music and more. Other then a 500 price point i dont see anything bad about it. It is also running OS X. Tell me what you think.

On Palm's Site

As of this Monday morning the Palm 750 is listed on www.palm.com for $399.00 for Cingular on contract. Maybe I will go down to the local Cingular store today to check one out.

battery?

Will this have the same problems with the battery like the 680 since they are the same size and power level? If so is there a way to condition the battery so that it keeps its charge longer?

Release date

Official email and release info from Cingular says January 7th is the release date...so it should be 8th or 9th before it actually starts selling in stores.

Treo 750 with A-GPS or without A-GPS

Will the treo 750 phone carry A-GPS technology from Cingular network?

Note: (Most phones with "GPS" in fact use A-GPS technology. The "A" stands for assisted, and means that the phone relies on the network for help in determining location. Although the phone does receive GPS signals directly from the satellites, it can't determine actual location without help from the cell network.)

Subject: treo question

I have a user inquiring about the projected availability of the new TREO 750. Any word on it's release?

Not saying that this is 100% correct, but he was pretty up to date with other phones that I have asked about in the past.

More bad news for my fellow Treo 750 fans

My Cingy source confirmed that Cingular has not yet approved the release of Treo 750's due to numerous bugs that Palm has yet to address. Cingy is being really careful not to have a repeat of the Treo 650 fiasco. There's no truth to previous reports of HSDPA problems or network compatibility issues that was causing the delay. The real deal is Palm needs to get their act together and deliver a quality phone considering the Treo 750 will cost some major $$$$$$ when it is released. So as most of you fellow Treo fans patiently waiting for this thing, all we can do is wait and be patient and it will be worth all the wait.

Latest Bad News

After the Treo 680 unceremoniously made its appearance (finally) November 24 for $199, you'd expect the Treo 750 to come soon as well. Not quite, as Palm CEO Ed Colligan pointed out yesterday.

Even though Cingular's eventually going to get the Treo 750, which has been out in Europe for a while, stability problems have pushed the release back into the 3rd quarter of fiscal year '07. This means sometime between March 1 to May 30, for those not familiar with the fiscal calendar (Palm's is off by a month). – Jason Chen

Does anyone know when this phone will be released in the US? Spoke with a Cingular store rep and they said sometime after Q1 - 2007.

Palm Lowers revenue forecast due to 750 delays

http://today.reuters.com/news/articlebusiness.aspx?t ... »

"It blamed the lower forecasts mainly on a delay by a U.S. cellphone carrier in ensuring the Treo 750 is compatible with the carrier's network. It declined to name the carrier."

Gee, I wonder if it begins with C.

""There are many, many steps and myriad attributes about the certification process," Palm spokeswoman Marlene Somsak said. "The phones have to be super well-tuned to the network."

"Spokespersons for Cingular Wireless and Verizon Wireless, two of the largest U.S. cellphone carriers, declined to say whether they plan to offer the Treo 750 on their networks."

Given that the 750 is a GSM phone, talking to Verizon about it ...

Treo 750v on Cingular, 3G Video Clips???

So I need help here from someone who's more knowledgeable than the n00bs at tier 2 data support from Cingular. I bought a Treo 750v, Vodafone branded, but flashed the phone with the Cingular ROM file I found. Everything works great, but I want to get access to the video clips Cingular offers to other 3G phones. I've called data support, and even talked to a tier 2 person, both were unhelpful and told me it could not be done. From what I've been told, if you have a specific MEdia Net plan and a 3G phone there should be a link on the MEdia Net main page to access videos. I had them add the plan, but no new link appears. I can do a search on MEdia Net for video and get a link that reads "go to Cingular Video" but when I click it it displa...
