Battery Life

What, if anything, can one reasonably do to extend battery life for the 8300? Reviews said it had an OK life, but it looks like a day or two is about it, and that's without heavy use and no music.
Will turning off backlighting make a noticeable difference? Could part of the short life be due to my putting in a number of new contacts?
Makes me long for my ancient Motorola 60i.

has anyone heard anything about this phone? Sprint is apparently releasing it soon, but I cant find anything on Phone Scoop, LG's site or Sprint's website about it. I'm guessingf it's just replacing the 150, but i can't find anything on it (as of yesterday)

Text entry -- word mode

Need a good explanation or online tutorial of how to use Word mode when entering text in a text message.

I have an LG VX8600, which I love.

But can't figure out how to use the Word mode properly -- don't understand the logic of how/why the different letters come up based on what I've entered.

Anyone know of more detailed instructions than what comes with the phone? Or a link to an online demo?

Thanks much

Possible move from Nokia to LG

I am getting ready to get a new GSM phone with AT&T. Up until now, I have only used Nokia, but I really am not impressed by their new line.

Anyone have any thoughts on quality between the 2 vendors?

Also looking for info on sync'ing w/Outlook for Calendar and Contacts. I like the Nokia address book, but the calendar has issues with recurring events. Can someone provide insight on how well the LG syncs?

Thanks for your help

LG ENV - Card Reader

Can you recommend the best card reader I should buy?

Or can I use my digital camera connected to my computer to read the music files that are on my memory card?

Also, what memory size card should I have if I want like 1000 songs?

i emailed verizon asking them about the prada or the ks20 and if they are going to carry it and here's the response

It?s great to hear from you today. My name is Robert, and I am happy to assist
you with information regarding the Prada/LG KS20 model phone.

the model phone you are referring to is the LG KE-850 Prada phone and
Verizon Wireless will not be offering the Prada phone due to differences in
wireless technology. Verizon Wireless offers a great selection of products and
services for our customers who want to download and play music ? and more. For
a list of available music-capable handsets, please click on the following link:

This thread is dedicated to the KE850 Prada Phone. It seems now that the iphone crap is about to launch everyone without AT&T will have to rally on another touchscreen phone.

LG VX9900 (enV) - Need explicit instructions for disassembly...

Hey everyone... New here but heard it is an extremely helpful source for info...

I have purchased an LG enV but did not purchase the warranty and as Murphy's Law stipulates, I have cracked the main LCD....

I have ordered a replacement LCD and also an OEM housing but would really like to be able to follow some disassembly instructions...

Anyone have a link to such instructions or ever perform this task and can provide the same...

All help would be greatly appreciated...

LG CU500 Unit Converter

I was using the unit converter (found in the tools menu) on my LG CU500 to convert fl. oz. to ml and quarts to liters and discovered that the phone is using British units and not American. Any suggestions on how to switch the phone to American units?

Cleaning Keys on VX2000

My old VX2000 has become my wife's. The keys have some black grunge(sorry that's the most tehcnical word I can find) on them. I'd like to either buy a new key pad for it, or find a way to clean the stuff off.

Any good advice.

Question about the CG225

I have a friend who had a 1400 and had to do an insurance claim and they sent him the 225. He downloads ring tones all the time but this phone will only let him have two. Is there anyway to be able to have more on the phone without deleting the two that are already downloaded? Confused

Driving Mode Help!

I just dropped and busted my BELOVED LGVX4500...

So without thinking I buy this new fancy LGVX8300.

Come to find out, it is just about USELESS to me since I cannot use the speaker phone when the phone is CLOSED, as in DRIVING MODE!!!

Now the store where I bought the phone says they discontinued this because people complained.

Well I can't imagine this! This is true handsfree mode without having to use some dumb earpiece that you need to keep track of, and also when I find myself in the radio studio or the statehouse I don't have to open the phone and make noise while fishing for the vibrate button. You simply press a button on the outside.

It is THE MOST AWKWARD thing to walk around with the phone in speaker mode, OPEN positio...
