Verizon Tech Confirms Software Issue with W385 & KRZR K1m
Hello Everyone,
I talked to a Verizon tech in the Chicago area about the issues with the new flash UI found on the Moto W385 and the KRZR K1m. The issues are:
1. No indication to tell you what is the current selected ringtone.
2. No easy way to toggle from ring to vibrate mode, and vice versa.
He confirmed that this is not right and will follow the proper channels to inform Motorola that a software update needs to be done to correct these issues.
Note: These are the only 2 phones that VZW carries that has these issues, and the tech confirms that it was Motorola's blunder, and that it should have been caught somewhere in testing.
Sound familiar, Motorola, such as the days following the release of the buggy V325?
(ring lights disappearing, charging issues).
Opinions, thoughts?

I understand that you're angry...
I understand that you want something done...
But that's no excuse for swearing at me! I really honestly don't care if it was directed at me personally or not, swearing on a call gets two warnings, I've given you two, one more and you're gone and darling, we're looking at a MINIMUM of 20 minutes to get back to my department. I would advise against another curse word.
On that note.
I can think of a number of choice words for the agent who placed this order. Most of them involve "Don't let the door hit you arse on the way out!"
I want to beat this person about the head and shoulders with a heavy hard object.
This abysmally stupid person promised the customer a package that was just too good to be true. 59.99 a month for 1000 whenever minutes, free nights, weekends, and calling to the Five Favorites.
The package does not even exist. The 59.99 1k minute plan does NOT include free nights and weekends. The version that does is 79.99 a month. We simply do not have a package like she was told she would get. It doesn't exist and it's not physically possible to give it to her.
That's as far as his stupidity goes.
Then it's back to her.
She is insistent that we honor this package and if I could I would have. We should have never told her that it was a package that was available. Then she started basically making up packages she would like instead, which were also not options. We can't make packages up out of the whole cloth, it just simply doesn't work that way.
If the agent had told her we were giving her a free Wing or 8800 Blackberry we would have honored that, would have issued a credit to the tune of $350 after we had pulled the call and verified that. If he had promised waived activation we would have honored that... but we CAN NOT. Not physically possible.
That's the exact wording I used, it's not an option, not possible, I am not able. I am very specific with my wording, I say exactly, precisely, what I mean. If I say I can not, I mean I CAN NOT. I don't mean I won't.
She accused me of lying and began saying "You can, you just won't do it!"
"No ma'am, I mean I do not have the ability to do it."
This call went on for 30 minutes (meanwhile we have a 20 minute hold time recall.) with her getting more and more irate and swearing.
The biggest problem, really, was that I felt BAD for her until she started swearing. I loose patience with people the minute they degenerate to foul language. I still feel bad but I no longer want to bend every rule as far as I can to help her.
She finally asked for MY supervisor (thank god) because she just refused to accept the options. She spent probably 30 minutes yelling at HIM. The worst of it was that if this idiot agent had simply given her the package she asked for in the first place instead of trying to get her on a promo that she didn't actually want and that didn't actually exist we would not have ever had a problem. Now she wants the same package for $10 less a month and it's just not going to happen.
I was tired, cranky and trying amazingly hard to not hit that blue button by the end of it. Care has already given her waived activation, she got a free phone with bluetooth, a 1.3 MP camera, MP3 player, expandable memory, and speakerphone. They also gave her a credit on her bill (not sure how much) to make things better and that, none of it, is good enough.
So while I completely understand that you are frustrated and everything else, there is nothing else I can do for you, there just isn't any such plan. I'm sorry.
Now stop yelling at me.

It wasn't much of a merger, mostly a name change, really. SWB/ATT already owned at least 60% of Cingy, but by buying BellSouth, they got the rest of it and started letting everyone know that they are the new Evil Empire.
On a slightly different note....
Even ATT wants you to forget that they were SBC, their new commercials reference "other companies" that hook you on an introductory priceplan for your DSL, then switch to exhorbitant prices later. They want you to forget that they were the ones who started that practice, and probably the ones who did it to you in the first place.

A couple of things to note.
1) Back in the cingular days all premier authorized agents were branded exactly like cingular core stores and it was virtually impossible to tell the difference unless you asked.
2) I totally agree that long time customers should get extra incentives to stay with at&t but that wont happen untill at&t changes there comp structure. We as agents actually earn less money doing an upgrade to an existing account then we do with a brand new activation.
